- Aokigahara Forest, Japan
The Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan is one of the scariest places in the world. Also known as the Sea of Trees, this forest is the perfect place for anyone looking to commit suicide. The forest has a reputation for being extremely eerie, and has been the site of hundreds of suicides each year. Visitors to the forest say that it’s virtually impossible to navigate your way through the maze of trees. These trees grow so close together that it’s impossible to see more than a few feet ahead of you, meaning that you would have no idea if you were about to walk off a cliff or into quicksand. It’s no surprise that this forest is one of the scariest places in the world.
- The Eastern Shore of Singapore
The Eastern Shore of Singapore is one of the scariest places in the world. This strange place is home to countless abandoned buildings and temples that date back to the 1800s. The shore is also haunted by the ghosts of thousands of people who were forced to work there as slaves. The shore was home to a large number of shipwrecks, and so the government decided to use it as a place to store thousands of tons of coal. After the coal was removed, they left thousands of abandoned coal sloops behind. In the late 80s and 90s, the government decided to clean the area up and sell it off. Although they did manage to remove most of the ships, they were unable to get rid of the thousands of rats that had made the area their home. Now, the Eastern Shore is one of the scariest places in the world.
- Abandoned City Kowloon
Located in Hong Kong, one of the scariest places in the world is the Abandoned City Kowloon. This area was once home to more than 50,000 people, but was abandoned almost overnight when Hong Kong was given back to China in 1997. This cityscape is truly one of a kind, and is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The area is covered in thousands of unfinished buildings and skyscrapers. It’s like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and there are a number of creepy stories about it. Some of the buildings are so tall that it’s almost impossible to get to the top floor, while others are completely gutted, with nothing but wires and pipes inside. This is one of the scariest places in the world, and it’s definitely not somewhere you want to visit.
- Suicide Bridge in Tokyo
The Suicide Bridge in Tokyo is one of the scariest places in the world. The bridge is notorious for being one of the most popular places for people to take their own lives. The Japanese government has tried to stop this by covering the bridge with netting, but that hasn’t stopped people from jumping off the bridge anyway. The bridge, which is also known as the Black Gate, has a wooden rail and is only about knee-high. It’s a very easy place to jump from, and it’s estimated that thousands of people have jumped to their deaths from it. There have been so many deaths on the bridge that blood can often be seen dripping from the netting. And, if that’s not scary, then we don’t know what is!
- The Queen Mary and the Haunted Ship
The Queen Mary and the Haunted Ship is one of the scariest places in the world. This famous ship, which was built in 1936, was retired in 1968 and ended up being turned into a hotel and tourist attraction in Long Beach, California. Unfortunately, the ship is now widely thought to be haunted. Guests and staff members have reported hearing strange noises on the ship, and have seen ghosts on the ship hundreds of times. Yeah...suicide forest definitely is THE scariest place in the world. Hands down. Though I'd also wager Chernobyl is also terrifying. If you can get there.
