Their Adventure into the Fall of the Bermuda

Chapter Four

By Alina GoberPublished 5 years ago 4 min read

The next day rolls around. Eric, Aki, and Mandy all gather on the dock near the boat. Preparing themselves for what’s about to come. They know the risks. They’re either coming back dead or alive. “Do you want to tell your sister bye before we…” Aki starts off. “No.” She interrupts as she walks onto the boat. Eric and Aki just look at each other in confusion. They used to be close until Lola finally told her what she did. To her. To their family. The civilians. She’s a vicious monster dressed up in a white coat.

She sat down on the couch in the living area waiting to leave Florida. Eric and Aki walk onto the boat. Aki sits down next to Mandy while Eric goes to the wheel room. Before they drive off, there was a knock on the boat. “Lola!?” Mandy thought in her head. Aki walks to the door and notices that it’s his boss. “Leeroy?!” He yells. Aki looks behind him at Mandy and then walks out of the door to talk to him. “What in the world are you doing here?” He asks. “Well, if you wouldn’t listen to my warning then I’m just going to have to come with you, now aren’t I?” Leeroy says as he loads everything he bought onto the boat.

While Leeroy was in the storage room, organizing everything he bought into their correct sections, Aki came in to join him. “So, um. Can you just do me one favor on this trip?” Aki asks. “Can you not tell them about the conversation that we had on the phone the other day?” He continues. “Why exactly?” So that if something terrible does happen, they don’t completely blame you for their deaths?” Leeroy replies. “No of course not. I don’t know. Just please, Leeroy.” Aki begs. “Whatever, Aki.” Leeroy replies while chugging on a beer.

They both head upstairs to the living space to watch tv while Eric gets the boat moving. Then Mandy gets a call from her sister. She doesn’t pick up at first hoping that she’ll just leave her alone. But she keeps calling and wouldn’t stop. She was tempted to just block her, but she picked up the phone instead. Just to see what she wanted.

“What do you want?!” Mandy yells into the phone. “Hello sister. If you think for one second that I’m just going to let you go into the Bermuda and save them? You must be out of your mind. Be careful sister.” Lola said then hung up the phone.

The boat starts to move, and Eric walks out onto the deck. He knows something is up with Mandy and Lola. He just doesn’t know what. One thing is for sure though. He’s going to figure it out. “Who was that?” Eric asks. “Oh, nobody important.” Mandy says with a smile as she walks into the living area.

“Now that everybody is in here, I have a suggestion!” Leeroy yells. “Oh boy.” Aki thinks to himself. He knows Leeroy better than anybody in here. Once he gets drunk, there’s no stopping whatever crazy thing he thinks about doing. He just hopes that he doesn’t try to jump into the middle of the ocean just to seem cool. Then finally Leeroy yells “let’s all play beer pong out on the deck and have some fun!” “I don’t really think that’s a very goof…” Aki starts to say but Mandy cuts him off. “I’m down!” She yells. “But guys, we’re going to the Bermuda! It’s not safe to drink on a boat especially in the Bermuda Triangle!” Aki also yells. “C’mon. Loosen up bud. We’re like 15 hours away. We’ll be sober by then.” Eric says patting him on the shoulder.

Everybody goes out onto the deck and sets up the beer pong. He doesn’t understand how they could be so ignorant. Why would they just get drunk like this? 15 hours isn’t that far. They’re probably going to play half of that time. Then pass out right when we hit the Bermuda. That’s his luck. Probably his karma for still going out there when Leeroy let him know that they shouldn’t go.

Aki is still in the living area, reading a book. Ignoring their screams and laughing. Then all of a sudden Leeroy walks into the living area. Completely drunk. “Hey buddy. If you don’t go out there and have some fun with us, then I’m going to tell them about our little phone call. How about that?” Leeroy says while slurring his words. Aki was in shock by what his boss just said. He’s blackmailing him just to get drunk. “Fine. Whatever.” Aki says as he stands up.

They both walk out onto the deck. Aki goes at one end of the table while Leeroy is at the other end. Aki is looking at him with dark eyes. He’s so infuriated at what Leeroy said. He keeps throwing the balls, purposely missing the cups. “Now come on! I feel like you’re missing them on purpose now!” Leeroy yells. “Remember what I said in there!” He continues. “What’s he talking about?” Mandy asks. “Nothing.” Aki replies. He throws the last ball that’s in his hand and he got it in one of the cups. “Cheers!” They all yell while he chugs the alcohol.

They kept playing for hours on end. One-hour passes. Then two. Then three. Then four. Then five. After that they all end up passing out. More hours pass. They’re drifting closer and closer to the Bermuda.

Nine hours pass and they’re all still passed out except for Aki. Aki woke up about 20 minutes ago. He went ahead and made him some coffee and ate a little bit. Then he plopped on the sofa and started reading again. He didn’t drink a lot, so he didn’t have a hangover. He’s prepared for them all to wake up though and start complaining about migraines. Then all of a sudden something hit the boat. He thought it was probably just a fish swimming by, it’s nothing. So, he went back to reading. But then it struck again, this time hitting it harder. Making everybody else jolt up from all of the ruckus the creature is causing. “What the hell was that?” They all ask as they grab their heads in pain.
