The Yakshi of Kerala
The yakshi was a beautiful woman with long, flowing hair and dark, almond-shaped eyes. She had a perfect complexion and a slender figure. But there was something about her that was not quite human. Her eyes were too large and her skin was too pale. And there was a strange, otherworldly glow about her.
The yakshi lived in the forest near a small village in Kerala. She was a mysterious creature, and the villagers were afraid of her. They said that she was a demon who lured men to their deaths.
One day, a young man named Arjun decided to go into the forest to find the yakshi. He was curious about her, and he wanted to see if she was really as dangerous as the villagers said.
Arjun walked for hours through the forest, until he came to a clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a large tree, and under the tree was the yakshi. She was sitting on a rock, and she was combing her hair with a golden comb.
Arjun was entranced by the yakshi's beauty. He had never seen anyone so beautiful before. He slowly walked towards her, and she looked up at him. Her eyes were filled with a strange light, and Arjun felt a shiver run down his spine.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"I am the yakshi," she said. "And you are?"
"My name is Arjun," he said. "I am from the village."
"Why have you come here?" she asked.
"I wanted to see you," he said. "I have heard stories about you, and I wanted to know if they were true."
"The stories are true," she said. "I am a demon, and I am dangerous."
"I am not afraid of you," he said.
"You should be afraid," she said. "I can kill you with a single touch."
"I don't believe you," he said.
"You will," she said. "But for now, why don't you sit down and we can talk."
Arjun sat down next to her, and they talked for hours. The yakshi told him stories about her life, and Arjun told her stories about his village. They laughed and talked, and Arjun forgot all about being afraid.
As the sun began to set, the yakshi stood up. "It is time for me to go," she said. "But I will come back tomorrow, and we can talk more."
"I will be here," Arjun said.
The yakshi smiled and disappeared into the forest. Arjun watched her go, and he felt a sense of loss. He had never met anyone like her before, and he knew that he would never forget her.
The next day, Arjun went back to the clearing in the forest. The yakshi was waiting for him, and they talked for hours again. They talked about everything, and Arjun felt like he was getting to know the yakshi better.
He learned that she was not a demon after all. She was a nymph, a creature of nature. She had been cursed by a witch, and she was trapped in the forest.
Arjun felt sorry for the yakshi, and he wanted to help her. He asked the witch to lift the curse, but the witch refused. She said that the yakshi had to suffer for her sins.
Arjun was determined to help the yakshi, and he came up with a plan. He knew that the witch was afraid of fire, so he decided to set fire to the forest.
Arjun gathered some firewood and started a fire. The fire quickly spread, and soon the entire forest was ablaze. The witch saw the fire, and she was terrified. She knew that she could not stop the fire, so she lifted the curse on the yakshi.
The yakshi was free, and she thanked Arjun for saving her. She said that she would never forget him, and she disappeared into the forest.
Arjun never saw the yakshi again, but he never forgot her either. He knew that she was a special creature, and he was glad that he had been able to help her.
The End.
