The Scariest, Creepiest, True Stories Ever!

By PPPublished 3 years ago 4 min read

In this collection of terrifying tales, you’ll read about real-life serial killers, haunted asylums, and ghostly apparitions that will make your skin crawl. You’ll also hear about some recent alarming discoveries in the world of science and medicine – not to mention genetic engineering, cloning, and other procedures that are opening new doors to mankind’s potential. From oozing sores and flesh-eating bacteria to mutant mosquitoes with a deadly bite, these accounts of scientific exploration gone wrong will keep you up at night. So prepare yourself for an intriguing – but also terrifying – peek into the macabre world of science gone awry...

Robert Shafran: The Man With Two Identical Twins:
Every now and then, you may read about twins who are identical in every way – everything from their mannerisms to the way their hair grows. But what about triplets who are identical? That’s the case with Robert Shafran, Eddy Galland, and David Kellman. They were separated as infants and adopted by different families. But they didn’t meet until they were all in their early 20s – and they were stunned to discover they were triplets separated at birth! Eddy and David were, coincidentally, looking to discover more about their biological parents and, as fate would have it, came across Robert – who was also searching for his roots. This incredible story was made into a film called Three Identical Strangers.

Doctors Find Human DNA in Chicken Soup:
Chickens are, of course, birds – but they’re also the source of a lot of human food. One of the most popular dishes made from chicken is chicken soup. The scientists who were studying this popular dish were in for a bit of a shock, though, when they found human DNA in the samples! This bizarre and unsettling discovery was made in Israel, where researchers were investigating the health benefits and risks of eating chicken soup. What they found was that, even though the soup was cooked in a strictly kosher kitchen, some of the soup’s DNA actually belonged to humans.

Josef Mengele: The Angel of Death:
Are there certain people in history who are so evil that they could be considered the embodiment of evil itself? That’s the case with Josef Mengele – the Angel of Death. This despicable doctor, who worked at Auschwitz during World War II, was nicknamed the Angel of Death by his fellow Nazis because of his penchant for cruelty and inhumanity. Mengele was best known for his gruesome experiments on Jewish and Roma prisoners. He performed painful, inhumane procedures on them, including removing organs and limbs and exposing his victims to chemicals. He was also known for his outlandish, evil sense of humor – including sending severed limbs to the families of prisoners and collecting human eyeballs.

A Terrible Discovery: Human Body Parts in Beef:
What happens when people discover that a common food item is actually made from parts of human corpses? Unfortunately, it’s more than just a few stomach-turning stories of disgust. It’s actually a terrifying, twisted tale of greed, murder, and cover-ups. In the 1990s, rumors began to surface that certain companies were using parts of human corpses (mostly from cadavers in medical labs) in their beef products. Unfortunately, those rumors turned out to be true. Investigators found that parts of human corpses were mixed with cow parts and put into food items like hamburgers and sausages. The scandal resulted in arrests and convictions – but also in a disturbing lack of transparency.

The Brown Mountain Lights:
There are plenty of strange phenomena in the world that have yet to be fully explained by science. But the Brown Mountain lights have been puzzling scientists for decades. These strange lights have been reported since the late 1700s and sit atop Brown Mountain in North Carolina. While some think the lights are a natural phenomenon, others believe they may be the spirits of Cherokee warriors or UFOs trying to communicate with humankind. However, experts are still trying to solve the mystery of what causes the lights to shine – and why they appear to be only visible during certain seasons.

Hideo Nakamatsu and the Electronic Ear:
Hearing impairments are no laughing matter. They can lead to isolation and depression, as those with hearing problems feel they can’t fully participate in conversations or enjoy music the same way as others. That’s why it’s exciting that we’ve made great strides in developing devices that help the deaf hear. One such device was created by Hideo Nakamatsu. "The Electronic Ear" was a device that could decode sound and send signals to the brain via an implant in the ear. Unfortunately, the device was met with trouble from the start. The FDA refused to approve the device – and the original inventors (who created the device with a different purpose in mind) sued Nakamatsu for using the device’s technology.

David Hookes: Real Life Superhero?
Crimefighters are typically depicted as heroes who happen to wear masks and costumes. But, in 2018, an Australian man named David Hookes decided to take crimefighting a step further. He started taking the law into his own hands and, in the process, became a real-life superhero. Hookes gained notoriety when he started patrolling the streets of Melbourne and taking down criminals who were in the act of committing crimes. His first arrest was of a man who was brandishing a knife in the streets and threatening passersby. Hookes later claimed his heroics were due to his frustration with the lack of police presence in the region.

Conclusion:
This article is a chilling glimpse into the world of scientific exploration and discovery gone wrong. From human DNA found in common foods and strange lights in the sky to body parts in beef and evil experiments, these stories will give you goosebumps. You’ll learn that science is not always as safe as it seems – and that there are many things that can go terribly wrong.
