The Woods

It was supposed to be a weekend camping trip with his friends, a chance to escape the city and enjoy the great outdoors. But as soon as they entered the woods, something felt off. The air was thick with an eerie silence, and the trees seemed to loom over them menacingly.

As they set up camp, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. They tried to brush it off as nerves, but the feeling persisted. And as night fell, things only got worse.

They huddled around the campfire, telling stories and roasting marshmallows. But as the night grew darker, they could hear strange noises coming from the woods. Rustling leaves, snapping branches, and the occasional growl.

Their nerves were on edge, but they tried to convince themselves that it was just an animal or the wind. But then, one of their friends disappeared.

They searched the woods frantically, calling out his name, but there was no response. And then, they heard a bloodcurdling scream coming from deep in the woods.

They followed the sound, running through the thick underbrush until they came to a clearing. And there, in the moonlight, they saw their friend lying on the ground, covered in blood.

It was a gruesome sight, his body torn apart as if by some kind of animal. But as they looked closer, they realized that the wounds were too precise, too deliberate. It was almost as if someone, or something, had done this on purpose. Their nerves were shot, and they knew that they needed to get out of the woods. But as they tried to make their way back to camp, they realized that they were hopelessly lost.

They stumbled through the woods, disoriented and terrified. And then, they saw it. It was a figure, standing tall in the darkness. It was hard to make out any features, but they could see that it was humanoid, with long arms and legs, and eyes that glowed in the moonlight. They froze, unsure of what to do. And then, the figure started to move towards them.

They ran, tearing through the woods as fast as they could. But no matter how fast they ran, the figure was always just behind them, its long limbs moving impossibly fast. They could hear its breath on their necks, feel its cold presence looming over them. And then, one by one, they started to fall.

The figure was picking them off, one by one, until only he was left. He was tired, scared, and alone. And as he looked back, he saw the figure standing before him, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light.

He knew that he was done for, that he was about to become the next victim. But as the figure loomed over him, something strange happened. He felt a surge of energy, a sudden burst of strength. And then, he realized that he was no longer alone. There were others there, spirits of the woods, ancient beings who had been watching over the forest for centuries. They were angry, and they were ready to fight.

The figure attacked, but the spirits were too powerful. They fought back with a ferocity that was otherworldly, tearing the figure apart with ease.

And as the sun rose over the forest, the spirits disappeared into the trees, leaving him alone once again.

He stumbled out of the woods, his mind reeling with what had just happened. He knew that he had been lucky to escape, that he had witnessed something that few people ever would.

And as he looked back at the woods, he knew that he could never go
