The night was dark. The deserted path through the forest lay eerily silent under the pale moonlight. A faint shadow flickered, sending shivers down the spine of anyone who dared to watch. The villagers avoided this path after nightfall, for it held a terrifying legend… "The Witch and Her Ritual of Human Sacrifice!"

The Village’s Curse and the Shadow of Fear

The village of Shivpur had been haunted by a terrible curse for centuries. Long ago, a widow was accused of witchcraft. The villagers, consumed by blind superstition, tortured and burned her alive. But before she perished, she uttered a chilling curse—"Every twelve years, a life will be taken… Only then will my soul rest in peace!"

Since then, every twelve years, someone from the village mysteriously disappeared. Some bodies were found drenched in blood deep within the forest. Others were never seen again. The elders whispered in fear—she had returned… The Witch!

The Night of the Ritual Begins

The twelfth year had arrived once more. Panic gripped the village. Parents locked their children inside, fearing the unknown. But four young friends—Raju, Sameer, Arya, and Kavita—refused to believe in these old legends.

"This is nothing but a superstition spread by the villagers!" Sameer scoffed.

"If it's just a story, let's go and see for ourselves," Raju challenged.

With torches in hand, they ventured into the eerie darkness. A chilling wind howled through the trees, and twisted branches creaked as if whispering secrets of the past. The night grew darker, heavier.

Suddenly… The Ritual Site!

Reaching a clearing deep in the forest, they froze. Before them stood a blood-soaked altar, its stones cracked and stained with time. Scattered bones lay around it, some fresh, others ancient.

"This… this can’t be real," Kavita murmured, her voice trembling.

A sudden, piercing scream shattered the silence. Their hearts pounded as they turned toward the source. From behind a gnarled tree, a shadow emerged.

Long, tangled hair… Hollow, blood-red eyes… Jagged, broken nails…

It was HER. The Witch!

The Fire Pit and the Beginning of the Sacrifice

Before anyone could react, the witch lunged forward and seized Arya, dragging her toward the altar.

"My ritual must be completed… Your blood will set my soul free!" she hissed, her voice echoing like a deathly wail.

Arya screamed, but an unseen force held her still. It was as if invisible chains had bound her body.

Raju and Sameer exchanged desperate glances. They had to act fast. But an unseen barrier surrounded the witch, burning their skin the moment they stepped closer.

Superstition or the Truth?

"There has to be a way… Something that can stop her!" Sameer gasped, thinking fast.

Then, a memory struck him—She must be destroyed at the very place she was burned!

Without wasting a moment, he grabbed a burning torch and flung it at the trees around the altar. Within seconds, the dry wood caught fire, and flames began to rise, surrounding them.

The witch let out a blood-curdling shriek. "No… This cannot happen!"

Smoke curled around her body as it began to dissolve. Her eyes glowed with a furious, hellish red before vanishing into the wind with one last wretched scream.

The Village is Free… Or Is It?

It was over.

The stories the villagers had passed down for generations were not mere superstitions. They were real.

And these four friends had just proven it.

From that night on, no one ever went missing in Shivpur again. But one warning remained whispered among the villagers—

"If anyone dares to enter that forest again… she might return!"
