The unwanted visitor.

By ashlee weber

The loud noises all around me, I just want them to stop but I know the moment they will something bad will come from the silence. A loud couple of bangs followed my thoughts, a loud scream and then silence, a strike of fear struck my body making me freeze for a good second until I snap back into reality looking over to my dog that is equally scared and stuck in fear. I unlock my door and sprint down the hallway, the hallway feels so large, the cold wooden floor underneath my feet and slightly open the brown sliding door in terror of what I am looking at, I fall to my knees trying to keep in my scream which is clawing at my throat to come out, knowing if I make a noise the same will happen to me. Tears stream down my face crying as silently as possible. I know the world was not always like this, what were these weird creatures?

I frantically grab the cupboard door on the left of me and empty everything out hectically but quietly trying to make little noise as possible and I squeeze myself in between the mess of bed sheet and towels and close the door trapping myself in, I try slowing my heavy breathing while taking out my phone shaking, I need to call someone, my dad maybe? I still hear the gross sounds of the sticky creature crawling around the living room knocking things over. I turn on my phone and I briskly put in my password, getting up speed dial. My phone starts to get all foggy from my breath on the screen, I feel as if I am overheating in this tiny cupboard, my head pounding and my face all sweaty. The noise starts up again as I hear my dog run down the hallway passing me suddenly my breathing gets heavier and my stomach drop, as I hear it yelp for help.

I slowly start to open the door beside me, fuck I think to myself as it creaks and I hear the creature all of a sudden stop, I pause. I can feel its curious stare through the wooden door making me feel uncomfortable knowing I just revealed my hiding spot, my dog wines figuring out the same thing I just noticed. I hear their disgusting slimy feet turn around and walk quickly out of the house while my cat hisses and meows, is it scared of cats I wonder? I lay here for another couple of minutes before my curiosity gets the better of me. I continue to open the door loudly creaking, still no noise from the creature so I climb out anxiously looking through the hallway door that my dog had opened, I look around my lounge room my mum not in site, tears started to stream down my face, but I know I must keep it together unless it is still around, I do not want to make too much noise. The dog follows me as I walk straight over to the large broken window on the left of the messed up lounge room, our small coffee table smashed on the floor and parts of the couch everywhere. I quickly look around the room messing up everything looking for my cat, shit where is she??

I take a glance out the window looking for any sight of it, I don’t see anything unusual. I feel breathing down my neck and I am stuck in fear once again as I turn my face around to make direct eye contact with the skinny creature, its as if it is human, but mentally and physically insane. Its wide mouth full of tiny sharp teeth in a wide smile and small black eyes that are gazing back at me, I start to scream so loud my heart starts pounding as I try to make my escape down to the opposite side of the room running into the kitchen trying to lock the door my hands shaking trying to grab the lock. I hear the horrible creature slam against the door multiple times trying to get in, I open one of the lower cabinets searching for something to defend myself with but as normal the house is a mess and I struggle find anything, so I run to the other drawers finding a large knife, I hold it out towards the door trying to contain my shaking and heartbeat down. The door breaks open.

The strange creature tumbles over me, I walk back tripping into the back wall and worried, I start to hyperventilate I look around me for anything else to grab but it's gotten close. Its tall skinny slimy brown figure stands towering me I didn’t relies how big it was until now, its gross slobber dripping down on me as it falls to its knees, “What the hell,” I question to myself “What is it doing?” Suddenly I heard something else run into my house, you must be kidding me, right? It is bowing, I think? I don’t even know, yet I don’t want to know. The other two identical creatures sit cross legged on the yellow tiled ground behind the first of its alike, behind them followed a gorgeous women covered in expensive robes and multiple necklaces and rings clearly looking like a queen or ruler of some sort, there is one that stands out to me the most. I recognize it because I've got the same one, large gold chain with a crystal that has been broken into 4 I assume, she's got one fourth I've got another, now I start to question, who has the other half? She starts to open her mouth to speak. From now on life will never be the same.

should i continue?
