"The Ghosts' Revenge: A Tale of Demonic Cults and Haunted Justice"

By Manoj JayaramPublished 3 years ago 5 min read

Prologue

In the small town of Blackwood, nestled deep in the forest, there is an old abandoned church. It's said that strange things happen there - voices whispering in the darkness, doors slamming shut on their own, and shadows moving in the corners of your vision. Most people avoid it, but some say that it's a place of power, a place where the veil between worlds is thin.

One night, a group of teenagers snuck into the church to play a game of Ouija. They laughed and joked as they asked the spirits questions, but something went wrong. The planchette started moving on its own, spelling out a message: "We are the ones who were wronged. We are the ones who seek justice."

Suddenly, the room grew cold, and the candles flickered out. The teenagers felt a presence in the room with them, something cold and malevolent. They tried to flee, but the doors wouldn't budge. And then, they saw them - the ghosts of the cult members who had been murdered so long ago.

Chapter 1

Marie had always been fascinated by the history of Blackwood. She loved the stories of witches and ghosts, of dark rituals and unsolved mysteries. So when she heard about the old church, she knew she had to see it for herself.

She drove out to the forest, feeling a thrill of excitement as she got closer. The church was even spookier than she had imagined, with vines crawling up the walls and broken windows staring like empty eye sockets. She parked her car and got out, shivering in the chill night air.

As she approached the church, she heard a faint whispering sound, like voices on the wind. She hesitated for a moment, but her curiosity overcame her fear, and she stepped inside.

The interior was just as creepy as the outside. The pews were covered in dust, and cobwebs hung from the rafters. Marie shone her flashlight around, searching for any clues to the church's history.

And then, she heard it - a faint chanting sound, coming from deeper in the church. She followed the sound, her heart racing with excitement and fear.

She came to a hidden door at the back of the church. It was slightly ajar, and she could see flickering candlelight coming from inside. She pushed the door open and stepped inside.

Chapter 2

The room was filled with shadows, but Marie could see the outlines of figures standing around a circle of candles. They were chanting in a language she didn't recognize, their voices rising in intensity.

And then, she saw the demon.

It was unlike anything she had ever seen before, with horns and wings and a twisted, snarling face. It seemed to be made of shadows and smoke, shifting and changing with every flicker of the candles.

Marie tried to back away, but one of the cult members grabbed her arm, holding her in place. She struggled, but he was too strong.

The chanting grew louder, and the demon seemed to grow in power. It began to speak, its voice like a thousand whispers all at once.

"We have waited for so long," it said. "Waited for someone to hear our plea for justice. And now, you have come."

Marie felt a chill run down her spine. The demon's voice echoed through the room, filling Marie with a sense of dread. She knew she had stumbled upon something dark and dangerous, and she needed to get out of there.

But the cult members were holding her fast, and the demon seemed to be growing stronger by the minute.

Suddenly, there was a crash from outside the room. The chanting stopped, and everyone turned to look.

And then, the ghosts appeared.

They were the same ones that had haunted the teenagers all those years ago - the ones who had been murdered by the cult. But now, they were glowing with an eerie blue light, their eyes burning with anger and hatred.

They floated into the room, their spectral forms passing through the walls as if they weren't even there. And then, they turned their gaze upon the demon.

Chapter 3

The demon snarled and bared its teeth, but the ghosts weren't afraid. They began to circle the demon, their hands outstretched as if reaching for something.

And then, they started to pull.

Marie watched in horror as the demon began to lose its shape. It seemed to be tearing apart, ripped apart by some unseen force.

And then, it was gone. All that was left was the cult members, standing in the center of the circle, looking terrified and confused.

The ghosts turned to face them, their eyes blazing with fury.

"You killed us," they said, their voices echoing through the room. "You murdered us in the name of your demon god. And now, we've come back for revenge."

The cult members tried to run, but the ghosts were too fast. They chased them down, their spectral hands reaching out to grab them.

Marie watched in horror as the ghosts dragged the cult members back to the center of the circle. They held them down, their spectral forms glowing with a bright blue light.

And then, they began to fade away.

Chapter 4

Marie ran from the church as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she had seen something that few people ever would - the ghosts of the murdered cult members seeking revenge.

She didn't know what to do with the information. Should she call the police? Should she try to find out more about the cult and its dark practices?

In the end, she decided to keep it to herself. She knew that the ghosts would never rest until they had achieved their revenge, but she didn't want to get involved any further.

And yet, she couldn't shake the feeling that she had stumbled upon something much larger than herself. Something that went beyond the world of the living and the dead.

The Unquiet Dead would never rest, and neither would Marie. She had seen too much, and she knew that the world was much darker and more dangerous than she had ever imagined.
