The Thing in the Mirror

Chapter 1

What am I?

Am I human? Where would I go? Who will I meet? What will my name be? Will I have friends? Where would I live? Will I ever get married? Will any of my questions get answered. Why do I feel so strange and why can't I see anything? What's happening to me...wait, I see something...yeah it's a...it's a light I think...it's growing...I..I...I see my mom. She is beautiful, but what am I..I feel so weird. I think I can walk but I'm not sure? I...I have a brother—ohh look, I have another brother and a sister, but does that mean I am the older or younger?

A few months later...

Hey, I am walking, but I can't go far. I am in a cage...look at this thing. It's weird and it's really big...is it my mom? Is it my dad? What is it...is it some kind of weird creature? I want to run but I can't, I just keep falling. What is happening to me...I...I...feel sick...I hear something....it sounds so horrible but I can't cover my ears. I am chained up to something...in a dark room. Am I going to be here in the dark all alone until I die? (It cries) I need to find a way to get out of here.

Chapter 2

The Escape... Um, Plan

I have this feeling inside of me that feels so weird. It's like.....like an exciting feeling you get when you get fireworks or when you get a boyfriend. Sometimes I just want to do it, but I don't know how to do it...what if I chicken out or, better yet, what if I get caught doing it? I'm better off in this cage then anywhere else (feeling depressed, going to cry.) If I do escape, what will happen to me out there?...Will I be welcomed or will I just be ignored and feel invisible? Who will help me. I...I can't just stay here, I feel like...like I am worthless and I feel unwanted. I just want to see what sun looks like and how it feels on my skin. That's it. Tomorrow at midnight I will do it. I will escape from this place once and for all. I wouldn't be living in this place to begin with.

The next day, around midnight, as the creature tries to escape, it notes that the lock needs some kind of key, but near the cage is a sharp object. As it grabs the object, it hears a voice (whispers "No one can escape from here, but good luck"). When it messes with the lock, the creature hears a click and the lock pops off, so happy to see that it hears the voice again ("Please don't leave me, I hate it down here. Right now, you are my only hope. Please help me. Please). As the creature feels bad, she helps the unknown thing at the other side of the dark room.

Chapter 3

The Thing in the Cage

As I move closer, I notice two eyes—one yellow and one red eye. I am afraid to get closer, but I need to find out what that thing is and why I haven't heard it before. As soon as I am able to touch the cage, the creature reaches out and touches my hand in curiosity, I jump back and almost scream, but I cover my mouth before any sound comes out. I go back to the cage and ask, "When did you get here," and the creature says, "I got here four years ago. My name is jersey. What is your name?"
