The Shadow That Followed: Part 5

Some things should never be seen…

By DaniellaPublished 10 months ago 2 min read

Apartment 6C had claimed another victim.

Daniel’s disappearance made headlines, but just like the others, there were no answers. No clues. Just another locked room and another missing person.

The landlord knew better than to ask questions.

But the mirror…

It was changing.

The Last Tenant

The building was due for demolition. The landlord had decided it was finally time to let the thing inside 6C be buried for good.

But before he could board it up, a new tenant arrived.

Her name was Evelyn Moore, and she was no ordinary woman.

She was a paranormal investigator.

Unlike the journalists and the skeptics before her, she had spent years chasing things that lurked in the dark.

And she knew about the mirror.

"I want in," she told the landlord.

He shook his head. "No."

But Evelyn wasn’t asking for permission.

That night, she broke into Apartment 6C.

And she brought a hammer.

3:07 AM

Evelyn stood in front of the mirror, heart pounding.

She had seen cursed objects before, but this one was different.

It breathed.

The glass rippled like water, faces pressing against it—Mia, Daniel, and all the others.

Their mouths opened in silent screams, their eyes pleading.

Evelyn gritted her teeth.

"I see you."

The whisper filled the room.

The reflection reached for her.

But Evelyn didn’t hesitate—

She swung the hammer.

CRACK!

The mirror shattered.

The walls trembled. A deep, inhuman screech filled the apartment as something inside the glass howled in agony.

The faces dissolved. The shadow twisted, writhing—then vanished.

And for the first time in decades…

Apartment 6C was silent.

The Morning After

The landlord found Evelyn standing in the ruins of the mirror, her breath unsteady, her hands shaking.

"It’s gone," she whispered.

He didn’t ask how she knew.

He just locked the door for the last time and walked away.

The End… or is it?

Years later, a new building stood in place of the old apartments.

A young couple moved in, excited for a fresh start.

One day, they found an old, cracked mirror hidden in the basement.

They brought it upstairs.

And at 3:07 AM, something smiled back.

THE END. 😈💀
