The scary cabin

The mirror

By Jayden ChurchPublished about a year ago 2 min read

In the heart of the dense, fog-laden woods of Leach, Oklahoma, there lies an old, abandoned cabin. The locals whisper about it, but few dare to venture near. They say that many years ago, a family lived there, but one night, they all mysteriously vanished without a trace. The only clue left behind was a single, bloody handprint on the front door.

One chilly October night, a group of friends decided to camp out near the cabin, eager for a thrill. As they sat around the campfire, telling ghost stories, one of them dared the others to explore the cabin. Reluctantly, they agreed and made their way through the thick underbrush, the full moon casting eerie shadows on their path.

When they reached the cabin, the door creaked open with an ominous groan. Inside, the air was thick with dust and the scent of decay. They found old, tattered furniture and cobwebs everywhere. But what caught their attention was a large, antique mirror hanging on the wall. As they gathered around it, they noticed something strange: their reflections were missing.

Suddenly, the temperature dropped, and a chilling wind swept through the cabin. The friends heard faint whispers, growing louder and more frantic. They turned to leave, but the door slammed shut, trapping them inside. Panic set in as they realized they were not alone. Shadows moved on their own, and ghostly figures began to emerge from the walls.

Desperate to escape, they smashed the mirror, hoping to break whatever curse held them captive. But instead of freeing them, it unleashed the spirits of the vanished family. The ghosts wailed in sorrow and anger, their hollow eyes fixated on the intruders. One by one, the friends felt icy hands grip their shoulders, pulling them into the darkness.

The next morning, the campsite was found abandoned, the fire long extinguished. The only sign of the friends was a single, bloody handprint on the cabin door, just like the one left behind all those years ago. To this day, the cabin remains a place of fear and mystery, and the spirits of the lost family are said to still roam the woods, searching for new victims to join them in their eternal torment.
