The haunted mansion

The old lady

By Jayden ChurchPublished about a year ago 2 min read

In the small town of Leach, Oklahoma, there was an abandoned mansion on the outskirts that everyone avoided. It was said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman named Eliza, who had died under mysterious circumstances many years ago. The mansion had been her home, and she had never left it, even in death.

One cold October night, a group of friends decided to explore the mansion, seeking a thrill. Among them was Jayden, who loved scary Halloween stories and was always up for a spooky adventure. Armed with flashlights and a sense of bravado, the group entered the mansion, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls.

As they explored, they found old photographs, dusty furniture, and strange symbols etched into the walls. The air grew colder, and a sense of unease settled over them. Suddenly, they heard a faint whisper, calling out a name – "Eliza." The friends froze, their flashlights flickering as if the batteries were dying.

Determined to uncover the truth, Jayden led the group deeper into the mansion. They reached a grand staircase, and at the top stood a shadowy figure. It was a woman in a tattered dress, her eyes hollow and her expression sorrowful. She began to descend the stairs, her movements slow and deliberate.

"Who are you?" Jayden asked, his voice trembling.

"I am Eliza," the figure replied, her voice echoing through the mansion. "I was wronged in life, and I seek justice in death."

The friends could feel the temperature drop even further, their breaths visible in the cold air. Eliza's story unfolded – she had been betrayed by someone she trusted, and her spirit could not rest until the truth was revealed. She begged the friends to help her find peace.

Driven by a mix of fear and compassion, Jayden and the group agreed to help. They searched the mansion for clues, eventually uncovering a hidden diary that detailed Eliza's tragic fate. With the truth finally brought to light, Eliza's spirit began to fade, her sorrowful expression replaced with gratitude.

As the friends left the mansion, they felt a sense of relief. The haunting whispers were gone, and the air was warmer. Eliza had found peace, thanks to their bravery. The mansion, once a place of fear, now stood as a silent testament to the power of uncovering the truth, even in the face of the unknown.
