There has been a home in San Cristobal that has been abandoned for more than twenty years. It is located on kilometer 78 of the road that connects Havana and Pinar del Rio. Hilberto Espinosa, a driver for the National Omnibus Company who has been involved in the transportation of passengers in Havana, Pinar, for more than twenty years, adds that many are confident that it remains vacant because it is a haunted home.
A resident of Pinar del Rio named Carlos Trujillo, who often travels to Havana, claims that despite the fact that it is a fine home with a stone roof, no one dares to live there. The urban legend of the abandoned home is so pervasive in western Cuba that the majority of people have seen it, despite the fact that it is completely ridiculous. This Cuban mansion has been deserted for a considerable amount of time, which is an indication that many people are opposed to it. As far as they are concerned, housing is a national issue.
A curse is placed on those who, throughout the night, hear voices and knock things over. There has been a home in San Cristobal that has been abandoned for more than twenty years. It is located on kilometer 78 of the road that connects Havana and Pinar del Rio. Gilberto Espinosa, a driver for the National Omnibus Company who has been in the business for more than twenty years, adds that many are persuaded that it remains vacant because it is a haunted home. A resident of Pinar del Rio named Carlos Trujillo, who often travels to Havana, claims that despite the fact that it is a fine home with a stone roof, no one dares to live there. Despite the fact that it is ludicrous, the abandoned home tale is so common in western Cuba that the majority of people have heard it. This shows that it goes beyond the realm of travelogue. Lazaro Abreu, a farmer who lives on the other side of the expressway, asserts that he is located at kilometer 78.
It has been reported that lights can be seen moving, beds can be seen moving, and pans can be seen falling down. And a physically sound and big mansion that has been abandoned sounds strange even without any superstitions, especially in an area where hundreds of people have lost their homes to storms. Lazaro had always been under the impression that the home did not have any electricity or the means to get it. Additional cottages that are equipped with power may be found 200 meters down the road, and some of the bigger rural properties in Cuba are equipped with generators. The bathroom suite, together with the wooden tiling, was taken from the three bedrooms, the living room, the dining room, the kitchen, and the bathroom when it was stolen.
The plastering was only partially completed after recent repairs, as if someone started it but then stopped. Even after being neglected for years, it seems to be robust and dry. According to Lazaro Abreo, a farmer who lives on the other side of the expressway, Juan El Colorao passed away at an advanced age. All residents who came after them departed. As Lazaro puts it, fear is what causes people to perceive things. In the forty-eight years that I have walked through these places first thing in the morning, I have never experienced anything that seemed out of the ordinary. In the event of a storm, even my home will shield me.
Nor did it seem that old Juan was concerned about the ghosts that were hiding in the house. According to Lazaro, I recall that he would leave the house to play dominoes and then return at one or three in the morning. Both of these activities would take place. Juan was never one to be afraid, so it's possible that he heard them and went to sleep. I am aware that these things have occurred.
