THE MANSION

Ancient Mansion

By JessicaPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in a small village on the outskirts of a dense forest, there was a large, ancient mansion that stood tall and proud. The mansion was once owned by a wealthy family, but now it lay abandoned and derelict, with stories of its dark past haunting the villagers.

The mansion was surrounded by thick foliage and dark, twisted trees that seemed to reach out with their long branches, as if trying to grab onto anything that came too close. The mansion's decrepit walls and broken windows were shrouded in an eerie mist that never seemed to lift.

The villagers believed that the mansion was cursed, and that the ghosts of its former residents still lingered within its walls, seeking revenge on those who had wronged them. There were tales of strange happenings in and around the mansion, and many villagers swore that they had seen the ghosts of the former residents wandering the halls at night.

One night, a group of teenagers decided to explore the mansion, daring each other to spend the night inside. They were brave and fearless, and had heard all the tales about the mansion's dark past, but they were determined to uncover the truth.

As they entered the mansion, they were immediately greeted by a musty smell, as if the air had not been disturbed in years. The old, creaky floorboards protested under their weight as they made their way through the hallway, their flashlights illuminating the peeling wallpaper and broken furniture.

The group decided to split up, each member taking a different part of the mansion to explore. As they went deeper into the mansion, the eerie feeling intensified. The air was thick with a sense of dread, and every sound seemed to echo through the empty halls.

One of the teenagers, a young girl named Lily, wandered into what appeared to be the master bedroom. As she looked around, she noticed a strange mirror in the corner of the room, covered in a thick layer of dust. She wiped away the dust with her sleeve, and as she looked into the mirror, she saw something that made her blood run cold.

There, in the reflection, was the ghostly figure of a woman, dressed in a flowing white gown, her hair wild and unkempt. Lily stumbled backwards, tripping over a broken piece of furniture, and scrambled to her feet, running out of the room as fast as she could.

The other teenagers heard her screams, and rushed to her aid, but as they entered the room, they saw nothing out of the ordinary. Lily was shaking and pale, her eyes wide with terror as she recounted what she had seen in the mirror.

As the night wore on, the group of teenagers became more and more uneasy. They heard strange noises coming from the walls, and footsteps echoing through the halls. The air grew colder, and the mist outside the windows seemed to grow thicker.

As they huddled together, trying to stay warm and calm their nerves, they suddenly heard a loud banging at the front door. They rushed to see who it was, but as they opened the door, they were greeted by an empty hallway.

It was then that they realized that they were not alone in the mansion. The ghosts of its former residents were there, and they were not happy to have visitors.

The rest of the night was a blur of terror and chaos. The teenagers ran through the halls, pursued by the ghostly figures of the mansion's former residents. They saw images of a family torn apart by greed and jealousy, and felt the cold touch of ghostly hands on their skin.

As dawn broke, the teenagers stumbled out of the mansion, gasping for air and covered in sweat. They knew that they had uncovered the truth about the mansion's dark past, and that they would never forget the horror they had experienced that.
