She couldn't believe what she witnessed few seconds ago.

Her brother...disappeared. Right infront of her eyes.

She wanted to cry. Scream her heart out. But she couldn't. She was too paralyzed for that.

Then her eyes landed on a entry card, which she didn't notice before because she was too focused on her brother.

She took it in her hands and scanned it. It looked far different from the entry cards of the bunker. Then she looked around and saw a house in a distance infront of her.

Her brother warned her not to stay here a second longer but who would she go back to now? Her brother was her only family. Their parents were not here. Their father died when she was 7 and Enzo was 14. She didn't know how. The only thing she knew was that her father was also a part of the army. And their mother passed away 3 years ago due to car accident.

Her breathe hitched at the thought. Did their father meet the same fate as Enzo? Had Enzo come here because he wanted to find clues of their father's disappearance? Their father was declared dead since his body wasn't found after days of searching. His phone was switched off. He was unreachable. There was no clue of his disappearance.

Wait. His body wasn't found. If what happened to him was the same thing as Enzo's, then how would be his body found?

It would disappear. Disappear into thin air. Just like Enzo's.

She couldn't believe it.

She lost her father and brother in this same woods.

No one told her because she was too young. She would be too afraid if she knew about it.

Tears of rage rolled down her cheeks.

She had to find out about this supernatural being. She didn't care if she vanished, like all other victims. Who would she return to anyway? No one in her family was alive to welcome her.

She stood up, and walked towards the house, with the entry card in her hand. She walked and walked until she was infront the door. She hovered the card above the scanner, letting it scan. It made a sound, indicating the door was unlocked. She pushed open the door slowly and with deliberate steps, she walked inside.

Dark. Empty. Creepy

She walked inside further but suddenly, she felt a shadow run past her.

She jumped in fear and looked around her. But only saw the dusty, old interior of the house. She started to move again but then-

BANG!

The flower vase was shattered on the floor. She was truly scared. She knew the creature was in here.

"I know you are here. I know all of your doings. Why are you doing this? Why are you snatching away people from their families?", She called out.

Silence.

But then a laugh. A sinister laugh.

The voice replied, "Power. Only for power."

"How?", Adira questioned.

"By making people vanish. That's what I do. The more people I disappear, the more power I will gain. Although I try to be nice at first by whispering in their ears to go back but they don't listen. It's their fault for taking my niceness for granted. And like that they dig their own grave." The voice answered. "And now you're next."

With that, the being emerged from the dark and her eyes widen. Her breathe stopped.

Her brother said the truth.

They aren't human beings.

It didn't even look like it belonged to this world.

It was floating. It's face...it could freeze anyone to death. It wasn't like the normal human face. It was beastly. Scary.

She was stunned, unable to move. When the creature started to move, her senses finally came back and she made a run, for her life. But the creature, with its powers, locked the door closed. And bound it with planks.

She couldn't escape. This was her last day. She knew that because anyone who ever came here ended up disappearing. She came here willingly and she wouldn't survive this.

The creature then affected her with its powers. Infected her and in a swift motion, removed the planks and unlocked the door with its powers and threw her out.

She heard the door shutting. Her energy was draining out. She knew she would end up like this. But somehow she didn't care. She felt...relieved. She could go back to her family. She met the same fate as her brother, as her father and now prayed for the destruction of this creature. She wished for the impossible. Wished someone would put an end to this creature.

And with that, she closed her eyes.

Vanishing slowly and slowly.

And then gone as if she was never here, never existed.
