The Horror Gate

Curse of the Gate

“Do not come my way”

A little village once existed that was well-known for its rusted, outdated gate. The gate has served as the town's entryway for as long as anyone could remember. The gate had a mysterious and unsettling past that had always intrigued and alarmed the people.

According to legend, the gate was constructed on top of an old burial place where the dead still walked the earth. There was a widespread belief that the gate was cursed and that anyone who ventured to enter would experience dreadful repercussions.

Teenagers made the decision one night to put the lore to the test and determine whether the gate was actually cursed. They gathered at the gate and dared one another to go through. They crossed the barrier one at a time, giggling and making fun of the absurdity of the legend.

They heard an odd noise emanating from the other side of the fence as the final teen passed through. Their spines tingled as they heard what appeared to be whispers and sighs. The teenagers were confined inside when the gate suddenly slammed shut.

As they realised they were imprisoned, panic set in. Despite their best efforts, the gate remained immovable. The teenagers began to cry and shout for assistance, but no one responded to their cries.

The teenagers grew more terrified as the night went on. They felt as though they were being observed and could hear odd noises all around them. The rest brushed it off as someone's imagination when one of them insisted they saw a shadowy creature moving about in the shadows.

Days passed into hours, and the teenagers began to lose heart. They knew they wouldn't last much longer because they were running out of food and water. Nothing they tried to escap everything they could think of worked.

The teenagers began to experience bizarre visions as the days went by. They encountered the spectres of the ancient cemetery as they walked around the gate and observed them with vacant eyes. They could hear the cries of the dead and could feel spectral hands touching them coldly.

The teenagers eventually gave in to their dread and madness. They began to turn on one another and blame one another for their situation. They shouted and struggled until there was only stillness to be heard.

A group of hikers came across the old gate years later. The structure was still there, rusty and battered, but the captive teens were nowhere to be found. Some claim that the area is still haunted by their ghosts and that the gate is forever cursed. Some contend that the gate serves as a gateway to another dimension and that the teenagers were never actually there.

The old gate still exists as a warning to any who dare to cross it, whatever the reality may be. Avoid the gate's curse or you might never come back.

People's fear of the cursed gate increased as word of it circulated throughout the community. Some of them even refused to leave their homes after dark since they didn't want to risk going near it at night.

Yet, one individual did not fear anything. He was a sceptic by the name of Tom. He didn't believe in curses or spirits, and he was driven to disprove the existence of the gate.

Tom made the decision to test his notion one night. He approached the gate while feeling uneasy as he did so. He crossed the barrier and waited for anything to occur.

But it didn't.

Tom shrugged, supposing the story to be nothing more than an absurd superstition. The gate wouldn't budge as he turned to walk away. He tried to open the gate by pushing and pulling, but it seemed to lock itself.

When Tom realised he was imprisoned, he began to panic. His voice was hoarse and feeble when he attempted to yell for assistance. His palms were wet with perspiration, and he could feel his heart thumping.

Over the course of the evening, Tom began to see things. He observed shadows moving in the pitch black and overheard weird conversations. He had the impression that he was being observed and that something was hiding just out of sight.

Weeks passed, but Tom was still stranded. He was starving and dehydrated, and he was getting weaker every day. Nothing he tried to escape didn't work, no matter how hard he tried.

Tom began to go crazy, babbling to himself and laughing uncontrollably. He heard the screams of the dead ringing in his head and saw visions of them. He was certain he would pass away there, all by himself and forgotten.

But, something odd then transpired. The gate appeared to open magically out of nowhere. Tom exited in a confused and bewildered manner. There was nothing or anyone in sight despite his best efforts to find them.

Tom never again discussed his encounter. Soon after, he left town and did not come back. Yet, the rumour of the cursed gate persisted, and people continued to take extreme precautions to avoid it.

A group of scientists decided to look into the gate some time later. They performed numerous experiments and collected samples of the soil and rust. The results astounded them.

In accordance with the legend, the gate was constructed over an old cemetery. There was however more. A mysterious substance that had never been seen before had polluting the soil near the gate.

The researchers came to the conclusion that the gate was cursed and that anyone who passed through it would be exposed to a lethal toxin. They suggested closing off the area and demolishing the gate.

The gate, however, remained, bearing testimony to the horrors that lay below in silence. Furthermore, anyone who ventured across it did so at their own risk. Because the curse of the gate was actual and stronger than anyone could have ever imagined.
