Burns like 1,000 samabas!

Halloween is a time when we get to live out our fantasies and be another person for a day. The night is full of whimsy and Candy and I vibe with both of those things heavily. As a tarot card reader people except me to go all out for Halloween and throw an amazing party when I'm more likely to be doing “moon stuff” with my crystals in the backyard. If there is one thing, I won’t do is disappoint the people! (Because I'm still working on my people pleasing and standing up for myself) but I digress, so I did the damn thing you’re welcome spooky season playlist of the century This level of mastery is unattainable, do enjoy yourselves!

As you step into this party the Dj plays a handful of carefully selected & universally liked Halloween inspired songs I like to call “ghost jams”. Everyone knows the beginning of a party is not when it's at its peak so “Adams family theme song”, “Phantom of the opera”, “Stranger thing's theme song”, “Spooky Scary Skeletons”, & “Ghostbusters Theme song” in that order, plays as guests arrive, get drinks, attack the snacks table, get stoney baloney, whatever floats their boat.

Now this next part is a warm up before we start to break a sweat “Do you believe in Magic?” (The Loving Spoonful) “Somebody’s watching me” (Rockwell), “Poor unfortunate souls” (The little mermaid soundtrack), “Scooby-doo theme song”, “Monster Mash” & “Superstition”) Are perfectly curated in a way that depicts DJ reaching out to you like Aladdin to jasmine asking you partygoers do you trust me? To stay and dance is to say yes and with that you’ve entered “a whole new world” of sound. These are Classic songs from yesteryear and our childhood. (If you’re a 90’s baby that is) “Do you believe in magic” which is obtusely witchy, “Somebody’s watching me” is obvious spooky tunes, “Poor unfortunate souls” (The little Mermaid soundtrack), “Scooby-doo theme song” (Best Coast) and “Monster Mash” (Boris Pickett) gets the crowd singing in unison, While Superstition signifies yes it's a Halloween party but we put the emphasis on Party and not Halloween it's about to get lit like the jack o’ lanterns out front. It's giving Rager at Disney’s haunted mansion Vibes, onto next set.

We have given everyone ample time to arrive even frighteningly late ones should be here now so it's time for the BPMs to match the number of attendees. To get everyone on the dance floor with moves everyone knows We throw on “Thriller”, usually a DJ would insert “Wobble” here but its Halloween so, we throw on the spooky wobble. “Jump in the line” bring us all back to the first time we watched beetle juice and shook like the senoras we are, even if you’ve never seen it the song is a certified banger and the crowd is not doubt as hype as I am while I write this. “Brujeria” is on the same vibe and vaguely the same genre, The song speaks of a how this woman he knows must have put a spell on him. The song is in Spanish though, so just know brujeria means witchcraft and begin to salsa. “Magic” (B.O.B) brings us into to the pop sector followed by “Levitating” (Dua lipa) & “Just like magic” (Ariana Grande) all maintaining the upbeat tempo and gel together like the skeleton mold on the refreshments table.

One of my personal favorites “Black Magic” (young mavu) brings us into our next set, a Harry Potter inspired rap over the harry potter theme song, the rapper's English accent doesn’t hurt either. Next up is “Moonlight” (by xxxtenacion may he rest in peace) followed by “She wolf “(Shakira) because if shawty look good in the moonlight, it's because you were checking to see if she was a werewolf am I right? “Witchy woman” and “Black Magic Woman” to finish off the more chill vibe of this mini set providing a small break from throwing it in a circle to re-up on shots and go to the bathroom.

Things start ‘popping’ again with, “Every little thing she does is magic” (the Police), Sweet but psycho (Ava Max), Disturbia (Rihanna), and ET (Katy Perry ft. Kanye West). The message is very clear be afraid of whoever it is these songs are going on about she’s not crazy she’s just a little unwell. Following a girl like that around will lead you on the “Highway to hell” which is coincidentally our next track. Now “turn off the lights” (Chris Lake & Alexis Roberts) all I need is your “love tonight “(Shouse)

Sorry if that made me seem like a “Creep” (TLC) but “Love and sex and magic” (Ciara) are three of my absolute favorite things. Now I don’t got 50 cent but, I do got the “magic stick” (lil Kim) my guy, and with it “I put a spell on you” cause that’s exactly what I did, the DJ, the curator of your convulsions. You were all enchanted you’re welcome and here is something to say your goodbyes to... “Season of the witch” (Lana Del Rey) plays as you meander out and say your goodbyes. Mike AND Ike Drop!
