Lena moved into the old Victorian house with her two cats, Charlie and Oliver. She was excited to start a new life in a new place after a messy divorce. She fell in love with the house as soon as she saw it; it was like a dream come true. It was big, spacious, and had a lot of character. Lena was determined to make it her own, but she didn't know that the house had its own secrets.

On the first night, Lena had trouble sleeping. The house was creaky, and the wind was howling outside. Her cats were restless, and she could hear them running around the house. Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. Lena got up and looked through the peephole, but there was no one there. She shrugged it off and went back to bed.

Over the next few days, Lena started noticing strange things happening in the house. Doors would open and close on their own, and she could hear footsteps in the hallway when no one was there. The cats were acting strange too. They would hiss at something that Lena couldn't see.

One day, Lena was sitting in the living room, and she heard a voice whisper her name. She jumped up, but there was no one there. She started feeling like she was being watched. Every time she turned around, she felt like someone was behind her, but when she looked, there was no one there.

One night, Lena woke up to find Charlie and Oliver staring at the door. They were both frozen, and their eyes were wide with fear. Lena looked at the door, but she couldn't see anything. Suddenly, the doorknob turned, and the door slowly opened. Lena was paralyzed with fear; she couldn't move or scream. She saw a figure standing behind the door, but it was too dark to see who or what it was.

The figure started moving towards Lena, and she could feel its cold breath on her face. She closed her eyes, waiting for the worst, but when she opened them, the figure was gone. Lena realized that she was dealing with a ghost, and she needed to do something about it.

Lena started doing some research about the history of the house. She found out that the previous owner, a woman named Margaret, had died in the house. No one knew how or why she died, but there were rumors that she had been murdered. Lena was convinced that Margaret's ghost was haunting the house.

Lena decided to try to communicate with Margaret's ghost. She bought a ouija board and lit some candles. She sat in the living room and started asking questions. At first, nothing happened, but then the planchette started moving. It spelled out the words "Help me." Lena asked Margaret what she needed help with, but the ghost didn't answer.

Over the next few days, Lena started feeling a strong presence in the house. She felt like Margaret was trying to communicate with her, but she didn't know how to respond. One night, Lena had a dream where Margaret appeared to her. She was holding a key and pointing towards the basement.

Lena woke up and realized that she needed to go to the basement. She had never been down there before, and she didn't know what to expect. She grabbed a flashlight and made her way down the stairs. As she was walking, she heard a faint voice calling her name. She followed the voice until she found a locked door.

Lena used the key from her dream to unlock the door. Inside, she found Margaret's old diary. As she started reading, she realized that Margaret had been murdered by her husband. He had buried her body in the basement, and no one had ever found it.
