0s) tucks her daughters into bed. JACK SMURL (mid-0s) reads a newspaper within the dwelling room.

JANET

Sleep tight, girls.

DAUGHTERS (in unison)

Goodnight, Mom.

Janet turns off the hallway light. A faint whisper echoes. She pauses, listens, but hears nothing more.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – LATER** *Jack dozes off on the couch. The TV glints with static. Suddenly, the room temperature drops. Jack shivers, wakes up.

JACK

Janet? Did you switch down the heat?

No response. He notices a darkish discern status within the corner. It vanishes while he blinks.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – KITCHEN – MORNING

Janet prepares breakfast. She opens the refrigerator; all of the meals are spoiled.

JANET

Jack! The refrigerator is out again.

JACK

I simply constant it closing week.

They traded involved glances.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – BEDROOM – NIGHT

Janet lies in bed, eyes extensive open. The ceiling fan spins rapidly, then stops abruptly. A shadow passes over her. She gasps.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

The own circle of relatives sits together, visibly distressed.

JANET

We want help. This... something it is; it is tearing us apart.

JACK

Who will we call?

JANET

The Warrens.

INT. WARREN RESIDENCE – STUDY – DAY

ED and LORRAINE WARREN (overdue 50s) overview case files. The telephone rings.

ED

Hello?

JANET (V.O.)

Mr. Warren? My call is Janet Smurl. We want your help.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – ENTRYWAY – DAY

Ed and Lorraine arrive. Janet greets them.

JANET

LORRAINE

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – VARIOUS ROOMS – DAY The Warrens installed recording equipment. Lorraine senses a presence.

LORRAINE

There's a multiple entity here. But one is... malevolent.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – NIGHT

The own circle of relatives sleeps. Cameras seize furnishings moving, doorways slamming, and a darkish mist forming.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Lorraine critiques footage.

LORRAINE

This is not like something we have encountered. It's now no longer only a haunting; it is an infestation.

INT. CHURCH – OFFICE – DAY Ed consults with a pastor.

ED

We want an exorcism.

PRIEST

I'll want approval from the diocese.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – NIGHT

The own circle of relatives gathers for a prayer consultation led with the aid of using the Warrens. The environment grows tense. Objects fly, partitions shake.

ED

Stay strong. It feeds on fear.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – MASTER BEDROOM – NIGHT

Janet is alone. The room darkens. A demonic discernment appears.

DEMON

Leave now.

Janet screams. The own circle of relatives rushes in.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

The Warrens talk their findings.

LORRAINE

This entity is concentrated on the own circle of relatives, in particular Janet.

ED

We want to behave fast.

INT. CHURCH – SANCTUARY – DAY The Priest prepares for the exorcism.

PRIEST

May God be with us.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – NIGHT

The exorcism begins. The demon resists, inflicting chaos. The own circle of relatives holds hands, praying.

DEMON

You can't banish me!

PRIEST

In the call of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I command you to leave!

The demon shrieks and vanishes.

INT. SMURL FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

The own circle of relatives sits together, relieved.

JANET

Thank you.

ED

Stay vigilant. Evil constantly seeks a manner back.

INT. WARREN RESIDENCE – STUDY – NIGHT

Ed and Lorraine mirror at the case.

LORRAINE

This can be our last.

ED

If it is, we made a difference.

FADE OUT.
