The Cabin in the Woods Has One of the Best Endings in Horror History

I think The Cabin in the Woods has to be the top dog of horror movie endings. It's INSANE, and freaking BRUTAL.

This is probably the best ending I have ever seen to a horror film. This ending features a twist no one would see coming.

The story follows your typical horror trope, a cabin in the woods with the five horror characters that you expect to die in a particular order.

The stereotypes that we are all used to in a horror movie:

The Jock, The Slut, The Fool, The Virgin, and the Nerd.

In typical horror movie fashion, we see these five friends go to a cabin in the woods, and experience pure horror they are not expecting. A slasher appears out of nowhere, attacking all five friends. Only the Virgin, Dana, and The Fool, Marty, are the only survivors left standing.

And the slasher appearing out of nowhere did not just happen by chance.

It turns out to be much crazier than that, and an amazing twist is revealed.

The group had been targeted by a secret lab that holds a whole army of monsters.

The horror trope characters that we all know and love must die, so that the world will continue to live on, pleasing the Gods who reside inside of the Earth.

Yes...that is the huge reveal. Literal Gods want four sacrifices, so that they won't ever feel the need to destroy the Earth.

That is a damn good twist, and I was beyond curious to know what kind of ending I was about to witness.

The final girl and the stoner decide to fight it out, because neither of them wants to die...because like they were told, four people must die. And one of them has to die in order for the Gods to be pleased.

You would assume that the final girl and the stoner dude would make the harsh decision for either of them to die, in order to save the world from total destruction from these powerful Gods?

Well…after they struggle getting their asses beaten down, they both end up killing someone else instead, which is the person who had given them the information about the four people who must die.

Marty and Dana are both exhausted after the fight, and they both realize that they screwed up, having this person take the fall for them. They both sit down, and decide to just let the Gods free. Marty tells Dana that perhaps the world needs this kind of wake up call, which is absolutely insane to say.

The movie ends with one God’s arm literally rising from the ground, wiping out the entire lab and the two final characters, as it slowly rises up to begin the invasion of the world.

It’s a fantastic ending to a horror film.

I will never forget how me and my sister reacted the first time we watched the ending, as the God’s arm slowly rises out of the Earth.

I really wanted to see what happened next, but that was the perfect cut away to ‘fading into black endings.’ Even though I was pissed off at first, man, I had to admit that was one of the best and brilliant ways to end a horror film.

Like damn, talk about a BRUTAL ENDING.

And I have to admit...I don't think I would have made a decision like that. Marty and Dana were honestly so damn selfish for sacrificing the entire world. Like damn bro. Why have the world take the fall for you???

Every single person literally dies. The whole world, pretty much!
