The Story of a Psycho
Project Scorpio Maze was the last experiment by the Military-Industrial Complex, the god of our world, sometimes gossiped about in its era (for even among the proletariat today persists a healthy skepticism) in whispers on our regulated and wild Internet that has finally subsumed reality. Half of what we know about this experiment originates from a mysterious package that was delivered by a drone to a Mr. Oleg Ceksin. All we are willing to publish now regarding this Oleg (we like to refer to him by his first name, although none of us ever truly related to him on a first-name basis) is that he was a traitor, a category not entirely atypical, nevertheless he wasn't just subversive and abnormal but lost as well, a type of subversive whose confusion and disorientation made him wonder if his nation and empire weren't actually in the right and thus, at least occasionally, compelled him to identify with his side instead of with the enemy. Project Scorpio Maze, likewise, began by questioning everything about our empire and its (supposedly imperialist) actions; the most marginalized of top-secret departments, it had to resort to wining and dining and imploring sundry millionaires for favors, and it shamelessly adopted the role of parasite, yet when the experiment was finally dissolved, its value to our empire turned out to be priceless. But throughout its lifetime, of course, Project Scorpio Maze had been considered the most eccentric experiment in our empire. Allow us to emphasize that this project was not an example of subversion--the majority of traitors are self-destructive and incompetent--but of guilty self-analysis, and of a unique, stereotypically Western style.

Mirrors: Superstition, Mythology, Psychology, & Sanity
Mirrors are one of a few everyday objects responsible for fear, anxiety, and mental disorders. The small but terrifying list you may find around your home includes your own bed because it creates an "under" the bed; refrigerators at night, as that's where evil originates; dolls, particularly old ones; and, of course, mirrors. I suppose if we're talking about things around the house, we could also add the basement and attic, but those are more of locations instead of objects. Mirrors, though, carry a special kind of folklore and superstition that things like refrigerators don't. After all, no one ever said that if you break a fridge, you get seven years of bad luck.

A Favor for a Friend
Caleb heard a soft buzz outside of his window. He slightly opened the blinds to see. A small mechanical drone was dropping off the package. It teetered slightly as the wind pushed it, but found its proper path onto his porch. Caleb stepped outside onto his front porch and looked down at the package.

An Unexpected Gift
Chris saw the drone flying away from his apartment and raised an eyebrow. He hadn't ordered anything, certainly nothing that a drone would deliver, and he came up the stairs two at a time before his crackhead neighbors came out to steal it. Calling them crackheads might have seemed a little disparaging, but Chris had actually come home and found them smoking crack on the front porch, so he thought it more than fair. The Palm Breeze weekly rentals were far from posh, but they were the best he could afford. Chris had a dead-end job that barely paid him minimum wage and hardly worked him part-time these days. He was behind on his rent, looking at ramen noodles for dinner again, and, if he was lucky, he might get halfway through tonight's football game before they shut his cable off.

Yaga
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The forest was in a liminal state: caught between the dying throes of autumn and the birth of winter. A cascade of fiery leaves rode the wind whilst flecks of snow floated softly down onto the dirt track road. The A-frame cabin was of medium size, nestled amongst the trees.
