the ice cream fan
As a young adult who chose to move out as fast as possible, I quickly realized that an air conditioner was way out of my budget. I also didn’t even know how to install one or where to borrow some tools, so I settled for the next best option. A cheap standing fan and lots of cookie dough ice cream. The cookie dough didn’t do much to cool me down, but the idea of lounging in my undies in front of the fan, while totally not inhaling carton after carton of ice cream, was much more attractive.

My Parents Won't Let Me Open My Closet
I lived in my grandparents' old, broken house for two years since we couldn't afford a new one. I wonder why they told me to not open the door to the closet in my room, which was permanently locked. Hence, I kept my clothes and stuff in a trunk under my bed. The place always gave me the worst vibes possible, and whenever I was in the house, weird thoughts used to come up such as my parents won't come home from work or someone might break in. That's why I preferred staying in school with my friends. Maybe the reason was that I had no siblings. Just 8-year-old me, alone in my dark, gloomy home with nothing but silence.
