A terrifying Japanese urban legend Kuchisake-onna, or "Slit-Mouthed Woman", is a malevolent figure in Japanese urban legends and folklore. The kuchisake onna is the ghost of a woman who was mutilated and has come back to seek vengeance on the world. Her name comes from the deep, bloody gash which runs across her face, grinning from ear to ear. She appears at night to lone travelers on the road, covering her grizzly mouth with a cloth mask, a fan, or a handkerchief.

The Yule Lads Diarys- Pt 1- December 12th- Stekkjarstaur
That night was the first night, and the first time I'd ever even seen one of them. My brother and I were out in the sheep shed, warm amongst the flock. Sheep are pretty important out here, and at Frjósöm Skref, they make up most of their livelihood. The farm has cows, two of them, and we were making strides with what Olf called "Hot House Growing", but the sheepfold was still their biggest priority. Iceland doesn't really have any predators, but sheep are not the smartest creatures. My presence here was to make sure that one of them didn't wander off in the middle of the night and freeze to death out in the cold. Sheep seemed to be continually looking for a way to accomplish this; a hole in the wall or a separation between the dirt floor and wall to scoot under. That's why they needed to be watched.

My horror story
I'm a psychiatric nurse and early in my career, I worked at a residential mental health facility. One of our residents was an elective mute, which means that he didn't/wouldn't/couldn't talk, but there were no medical reasons as to why. He had spoken earlier in his life and in fact seemed quite normal back then, with the exception of being close to seven feet tall. He'd been raised in the Deep South and joined the military when he was 19, but one night he vanished. He was declared AWOL, and eventually he was declared missing and dead.
