Stingy Jack
Stingy Jack Doubtless, our stories were what drew him in. This was the first real Halloween after our town lifted the Covid restrictions, and most of us were taking advantage of it. My friends and I were probably a little too old to Trick or Treat, but it didn't really matter to us. We made some last-minute costumes and went out to join the kids, though I don't think any of them were fooled. We were thirteen, nearly ready for high school, but they filled our pillowcases nonetheless. Rich was some kind of cowboy, Hank a car crash victim with some red paint and a little makeup, and I had threw on a long cloak from my older sister's costume trunk and some fake vampire teeth to make me look particularly ghoulish and the three of us had hit the street.

The Haunting of Hollowwood House. Content Warning.
The Unassuming Purchase In the small, forgotten town of Hollowwood, nestled deep within the forested heart of the Appalachians, a quaint and unassuming house stood at the edge of town. It had been vacant for years, and the townsfolk whispered dark tales about the place. They said it was cursed, that those who entered never left, and that the house itself hungered for the living.

It was rumored to be haunted, but no one could substantiate the stories until Emily, a curious adolescent with a penchant for the occult, moved there.

Tale of Toby
Tragedy at the Manson Mansion CHAPTER 1 Droplets of water quickly rush down the dark marble grave as sheets of rain spread across the vast cemetery. A young boy with a blue raincoat too long for himself stands unaffected by the rainstorm staring intently at the grave marked “Tobi.” The boy is holding a soggy black stuffed cat with a loose right arm, the string that held together the limb to the body showed it must have been stitched back together on countless occasions. The child slowly walks closer to the grave, kneeling in the moist and soggy ground right before it. Placing the black stuffed cat on top of the grave he drags his fingers across the engraving. Leaning his forehead against the marble he whispers,

Discount Tuesday
Gavin enjoyed working part time at the Pteetneet Film Society, a fourplex theater with purple velvet walls and black and white checkered floor that primarily showed cult classics and independent films, but he hated working the Tuesday shifts because it was always too slow. He straightened a box of Grandma Jelly brand Peanut Butter chunks and let out a sigh.
