Get into the Halloween spirit; all about trick or treating, spooky costumes, Halloween decorations and haunted houses for October 31st and all year round.
Stingy Jack
Stingy Jack Doubtless, our stories were what drew him in. This was the first real Halloween after our town lifted the Covid restrictions, and most of us were taking advantage of it. My friends and I were probably a little too old to Trick or Treat, but it didn't really matter to us. We made some last-minute costumes and went out to join the kids, though I don't think any of them were fooled. We were thirteen, nearly ready for high school, but they filled our pillowcases nonetheless. Rich was some kind of cowboy, Hank a car crash victim with some red paint and a little makeup, and I had threw on a long cloak from my older sister's costume trunk and some fake vampire teeth to make me look particularly ghoulish and the three of us had hit the street.

"From Bustling Bazaars to Silent Sanctuaries: The Evolution of Cemeteries"
Certainly, let's expand on the rich history of cemeteries and the evolving ways we commemorate the departed. When we conjure images of cemeteries, what often springs to mind are spindly trees, weathered gates, crumbling stone, and solitary mourners. However, not too long ago, these burial grounds were vibrant places, abloom with gardens, and teeming with people strolling among the headstones. How did our cemeteries transform into the solemn landscapes we know today? Some of them have stood for centuries, like the colossal Wadi al-Salaam, where over five million souls have found their rest. Yet, most of the places we now recognize as cemeteries are relatively youthful in comparison.

The Haunting of Ivy House: The Ghostly Push
In the quiet, picturesque town of Willow haven, nestled within a dense forest, there stood an old, ivy-covered mansion known as Ivy House. For generations, the mansion had intrigued and terrified the townsfolk. The house's history was rife with tales of tragedy and mystery, but the most chilling legend of all was the story of the "Ghostly Push."

Abyssalum Nocturna Revelare!
Under the pale light of a silvery moon, in a hidden glade deep within the heart of the ancient forest, a coven of witches gathered. The incantation echoed through the trees, the mystical words binding the members of the coven in an unbreakable circle of unity.

The Terror in the Attic. Content Warning.
The ancient Victorian mansion at the end of Willow Street had always stood in eerie solitude, its steep gabled roof and arched windows throwing menacing shadows that sent shivers down the spines of neighborhood children. It was rumored to be haunted, but no one could substantiate the stories until Emily, a curious adolescent with a penchant for the occult, moved there.

The Haunting of Hollow Manor
The wind whispered through the ancient trees as the moon cast an eerie glow upon Hollow Manor. The old mansion stood tall and imposing, its windows shattered and ivy crawling up its decaying walls. For years, it had sat abandoned, a relic of a forgotten time.

Ghosts & Ghouls! The Black Monk of Missenden…
Great Missenden is one of the most haunted locations in my home county of Buckinghamshire, England. Built in 1133, Missenden Abbey was home to Augustinian monks who were originally focused on holiness, poverty and prayer.
