The Shadow That Follows. AI-Generated.
Mia had always been an ordinary girl, or so she thought. She lived in a quiet town where nothing much ever happened. She went to school, hung out with her friends, and spent her afternoons doing homework or reading in the small park by her house. Life was simple, predictable, and safe. That is, until the day she noticed the shadow.

The Lighthouse Keeper. AI-Generated.
The sky was a deep gray as James Harper arrived at his new post: an old lighthouse standing alone on a rocky cliff. The waves crashed against the rocks below, and the salty wind howled around him. The place felt lonely, but James wasn’t afraid of solitude. In fact, he preferred it. He had spent most of his life working jobs where he was left alone, and becoming a lighthouse keeper seemed perfect for him.

The Grisly Game. Top Story - October 2024.
“There was only one rule: Don't open the door.” I listened to Justin give the usual spiel for what felt like the four hundredth time this Halloween season, for the third year in a row to guests who had paid for the privilege of being lied .A. ll while I stood behind the bar preparing ‘eyeball martinis’ and tried not to roll my own eyes out of my skull. The pub wasn't even really haunted. I would have known. Never mind the fact that the ghostly ghoul in question didn’t exist, it had always irritated me that he was fundamentally wrong about the rules. When dealing with the dementedly deceased, or demonically disastrous, there are four rules. 1. Never open the door 2. If you do, remember to turn on a light 3. 3 knocks mean danger 4. Never make bargains or deals When the dead have been hunting you all your life, you learn the rules quickly. Though never quickly enough. The tour ended. We locked up. I made the dark and depressing walk to the Traymore family home, arriving just before 3am as arranged. Lawrence my long suffering confidant was there already, preparing. I ascended the stone steps to the front door and as I raised my hand to ring the bell, 3 loud knocks reverberated through the wood of the door ‘Don't open the...’ I cried out too late. Mr Traymore swung the door open and I felt the pain rip through my body as the spirit of the demon pushed through me. I held back a scream and collapsed into the hallway as the heavy door slammed shut; pushed by hands only I could see. The game had begun. Would this be the night my luck finally ran out? Would this be the night I died?

Echoes of the Dead. AI-Generated.
Lena sat in her cozy living room, the soft hum of the television in the background. The wind howled outside, sending shivers down the windowpanes. It was a night like any other, except for the unease that settled deep in her stomach. She brushed it off as nothing more than the weather and sipped her tea.

The Haunted Camera. AI-Generated.
Lucas had always been fascinated by photography. He loved capturing moments with his vintage film camera, a gift from his grandfather. The camera was old, a bit rusty, but it worked like magic. Lucas enjoyed the process of developing film in his small darkroom at home. It felt almost like alchemy—turning a roll of film into images that held memories.

The Sleep Experiment. AI-Generated.
It began as a groundbreaking study. A group of scientists, led by Dr. William Carson, wanted to explore the limits of human sleep deprivation. The idea was simple: keep people awake for an extended period and observe how their bodies and minds reacted. They believed that, beyond a certain point, the need for sleep would disappear altogether.

The Phantom Passenger. AI-Generated.
It was a quiet night in the small town of Maplewood. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow on the empty streets. Most of the townspeople were asleep, and the only sounds that could be heard were the rustling leaves and the distant chirping of crickets.
