Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
The Executor
The Man with the Notebook had summoned me once again. A layer of fog drifted in lazy swirls outside the window of my favourite coffee shop. The aroma of fresh espresso washed over me as I breathed deeply, fighting to calm my shaking hands. Aside from us, only a solitary waitress occupied the lobby, patrolling the nearby booths with a rag and a pot of coffee as she waited for more customers to trickle in.

The Road Not Taken
Is the person we are meant to become predestined? Are our entire lives already written in the stars? Is it destiny that you are reading these very words at the exact moment you are? Maybe. But I like to think that everything I do will be a surprise. Maybe it will only be a surprise to the Earthians. Maybe the celestial beings already understand every aspect of my spontaneity. Maybe only you will. Reading my story.

The Psychic
She gripped his fingers a bit harder, trying to pull the warmth from him to comfort herself and lower the goose bumps now forming along both of her arms. It was colder than she had expected, but not enough to ruin the evening. Her coat was not thick enough for the wind she was met with on their walk through the city. He stopped on the sidewalk before crossing the next street and took his big jacket off, quickly swinging it around her shoulders. “Oh, I don’t need your coat!” she said, shrugging it away. “Come on, take it!” He said, “How many years in New York will it take for you to realize you need an actual winter coat out here?” She looked at him impatiently, “You know I don’t have money to spend on something I’ll only wear for one season. I’m fine!” He backed down, “OK, OK” he said as he put his big coat back on. There was a break in traffic. He grabbed her hand and led her across the street.

The Wilds
In the Rocky Mountains of Canada, roads can get treacherous in winter. Black ice, avalanches, and snowstorms weren’t unfamiliar to the rangers working in the area. Not to mention wildlife—bears, cougars, wolves and other animals could pose a threat. Especially during those long and cold winters where hunger drove animals into desperation. Admittedly, in recent years snow storms proved to be the biggest danger as they became increasingly unpredictable.

Follow The Instructions To The Letter
I was languishing in the bath that day with a face mask on when the doorbell screamed obnoxiously through the house. I settled back down and decided to ignore it as I wasn't expected anyone but then it screamed again, and again, and again.

The Grand Dame
The "adults" never pay attention; they never have and never will. I will always be a child to them, even when I have finally joined their ranks. But today, I don't mind. They're all "too busy", whispering in every corner, ignorant of where I go or what I do. Too busy to notice me sneak up the stairs and slip into the Grand Dame's room to be with the only person that matters right now: Grandma Ilza.

Broken Sanctuary
Xandra awoke at first light, as she had done for so many years. Her house was rotting and void of life, but here she remained. She was always quite lonely as her babies had been taken from her, but she could not leave her home. Her husband had built the house many years ago, but he too left her.

The Moleskine Notebook
The Moleskine Notebook By: Latasha Brown CHAPTER ONE What a pulchritudinous morning of Fall it was. I laid stretched out under the soft, blood red sheets in my canopied lair reflecting upon my life. Lord, Covid-19 crippled my life; especially financially. I gazed beyond the partly cracked curtains of my room window into the soft glow of the rising sun. I looked at all the colorful leaves that littered my yard from the trees in my yard. It was my 40th birthday! I long decided that I wasn’t going to spend this birthday alone. No-nonoooo, buddy. But I wanted to do something exciting; something soul invigorating, something dangerous. Oh, my freaking God! I just burst into a conniption of laughter. It was no way that scary old me was feeling so, so – ah, what’s the word – precarious? Whatever the case, I decided that whatever it was that I was going to do, I was going to manipulate a few family members to tag along with my boyfriend and I and I knew exactly who would be down. I climbed out of bed and ambled towards the bathroom to knock out hygienics and right in the middle of me storing my cosmetics back in their respective locations my phone rung…. It was my sister Candice calling to wish me a happy birthday, completely oblivious to the fact that she was one of the individuals I incorporated in my birthday machinations.
