fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
A Burial At Sea
Back in the late 80s, my grandmother traveled all over the world when she use to work as a flight attendant. She would bring me and my three sisters all sorts of gifts from foreign countries and distant continents. Bizzare clothes, exotic food, wonderous toys; the kinds of things sheltered suburban kids would fawn over. However, out of all the presents our grandmother brought back, none were more valuable than her ghost stories.

BZZZZZZZT! BZZZZZZZT! "Hm!" BZZZZZZZT! "ughhhh" It's cold, dark and I'm in bed. A wave of emotions flows through my body as I'm startled awake by the wall telephone in the other room. BZZZZZZZT! Groggy, then confused. Confused, then annoyed. Annoyed, then angry. Angry. Yes…. Who in the world is calling me at this time?

Tracks
It’s not the danger of a barreling train that ever bothered me. Trains are as huge as they are loud, and you’d be well aware of one if it was 300 yards behind you. Whether it’s the ear splitting shrill of the whistle, or the seismic activity they create, a train’s the last thing to catch you by surprise. And even then, if it were to catch up to you, all one would have to do is take a large stride off the track. It seems almost impossible to be struck by a train if you really try to imagine it.

La Creatura/The Creature
Vanessa drove through the fence and slammed the gas pedal. The man in the car behind her was right on her tail. It was pitch black out at midnight in the middle of nowhere in Homestead, Florida. She drove faster until her tires got stuck in the mud of the unpaved dirt road.
