Blood Fest: A Short Story
Tuesday, 31st October, 3:24pm Whitley hated the Halloween season. At one point in her life, she wouldn’t have minded joining tomfoolery, but then she grew and change became inevitable for her. All she wanted at the moment was to get home, go on her bed and sleep the disaster of a holiday off, but of course her best friend had other ideas regarding how she wanted them both to spend their night. With annoyance, she kicked the rotten pumpkin off the tiled street onto The Colter’s lawn with her dusty Doc Martens. This would teach them to decorate properly next time. Osprey Street was a pretty sane neighborhood to live in, with its tiny box houses and their white picket fences, except for the occasional petulant child who would stop at nothing until they brought down the walls of their house with their screams and the housewives whose defining characteristic were their ability to spread information faster than social media has proved to do. Whitley knew the moment she and her dad moved into the pretentious neighborhood that she’d never fit in -she never fits in anywhere. Her father, Chase had a much better luck with the adults there though. His charm won over all the housewives, their respective husbands and the two old couple that lived on the street.

Time in the Dark
In the heart of the countryside, where the whispers of the wind blended with the rustling leaves, lay the charming town of Willowbrook. Nestled between rolling hills and embraced by the comforting shadows of a dense forest, this picturesque community was a haven for those seeking solace from the hurried pace of the world beyond.

My Image. Top Story - November 2023. Content Warning.
The attic mirror shows a reflection that isn’t my own. Ugly and torn, my face, if it is my face, stares back at me with malice. A hatred, deep and boundless emanates from this vile thing. The air feels heavy and thick with its malevolence.

Whispers in the Shadows
In the quaint town of Eldridge, nestled between rolling hills and ancient forests, there was a house that stood apart from the rest. It was a mansion of grandeur and mystery, known as Blackthorn Manor. Locals whispered tales of its haunted history, and those who dared approach its looming gates felt an eerie chill that seemed to permeate the air.

"Eclipsed Legacies: Unveiling the Secrets of Ravenscroft Manor". Content Warning.
The wind whispered through the ancient oaks that surrounded the imposing mansion known as Ravenscroft Manor. Its ivy-covered walls stood tall and ominous, casting long shadows under the silvery glow of the moon. The mansion seemed to creak with the weight of its own history, a history that reached back through generations. It was a place that harbored secrets, and within its walls, a nursery bore witness to a chilling tale that defied the boundaries of the living and the dead.

The memory
In the forlorn hinterlands of Ravenwood Manor, an ominous pallor hung in the air like a spectral shroud, suffusing the decrepit edifice with an otherworldly gloom. The manor, time-encrusted and steeped in macabre legend, stood sentinel over a sylvan expanse cloaked in perpetual twilight. This desolate mansion harbored a dark secret, a sinister enigma that whispered through the ebon corridors, each creak and moan resonating with the echoes of bygone malevolence.

Teenagers Beware
I’m always on the lookout for something spooky to read. I am desperate for that book that sends shivers down your spine, or keeps your mind racing at night thinking of all the twisted possibilities that lurk in the shadows. The local bookstore was reorganizing their displays and happened to have a large quantity of books thrown together, and it was in this massive pile that this particular book caught my eye–the bargain price stick on the bottom of the cover also caught my eye, but that isn’t nearly as important. I grabbed this book and added it to the growing stack of books in my arms before heading out of the store and back home to shelve the newest additions to my collection. Despite being a bargain price, this book was full of exactly what I had been looking for.
