fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
The Wake
He had no idea why he said what he said. The words just sort of tumbled out before he could stop them. And there he stood, staring into amber eyes that were now brimming with tears. Eyes that so formerly had been filled with grief, which were now sparking with anger and shock. Shock that he, too, felt course through him, sharp as a lightning bolt in an open field.

Kaleb and the Wolf
As Kaleb sat in the office with his sisters, cousin, and niece, all red-eyed and somber, he reminded himself that this day would come eventually. None of the family thought the end would be this way though. A drunk driver, really? Each of the “kids” vowed to each other never to drink and drive again, no matter how many they have had. Their beloved Uncle or Daddy, Jay, was gone.

Walking Down the Crossroads
I look at the sides of this path and see many sand dunes. Now I was in the desert... somehow. I keep walking down the path, and every so often I see a body or two laying there in the sand. Sometimes a scorpion crawls on them. Eventually I come to a sign and it says, "Love thy neighbor." Oddly enough, I haven't seen anyone else on the path. Okay, I should say that I haven't seen anyone alive on the path, but whatever. What are you gonna do? Sue me? Ha! Good luck with that.

The Curse of Rebecca Walker
Rebecca Walker became submerged in water with a lid over her. No one helped her. She woke up on the first day of summer vacation. Like most teenagers her age, she was ready to cause havoc around town with her besties until school started again. It's too bad that her parents didn't see her as quite the teenager she thought she was. Her mom and dad walked in her room to remind her to pack for summer camp. Either Rebecca completely forgot about that or her parents just didn't tell her that she was enrolled in summer camp. She had no plans of going to that lame summer camp while her friends would be nowhere in sight. Rebecca was 15 years old and her birthday was coming up in July. Her parents explained to her that the camp was a two month program that began on the 19th of June.

The Witches
I came from a small town down south, my parents got divorced and my mother wanted to move back to her hometown. I was given the choice to either stay with my aunt or move across the country with my mother. I wanted change myself, so I packed my stuff and went with my mom to upstate New York. My mother told me that she bought a house with a huge backyard and my room had its own bathroom. I was more than excited to start my new life, I was going to be a junior in high school, high school for me in my own town was hell. I was made fun of because I looked like boy. I had a buzz cut, flat chest, and weighed maybe a hundred pounds soaking wet. I a lesbian and nobody wanted anything to do with me. I was called names like freak, fag, monster, and my absolute favorite chick that wants a dick. I hated the kids in my school, they tormented me. I was beaten up by boys, had my pants pulled down to see “what I was.”

Can't Sleep
I don't know what it is... but I can't sleep. Let me explain. I've been living alone for awhile, but I haven't felt alone. My house is in a strange part of town, further from civilization than I'd like to be, but I can't afford anything better right now, and I can't make more money because there is no such thing as getting sleep. Not for weeks. I just don't know what it is.
