The Salesman: Part I
It’s an evening like any other in the desert of Southern Arizona. The first hints of nightfall lurk under the blazing daylight; a painted sky overlooks a calm ocean of dust and sand extending to the horizon. A picturesque moment of utter tranquility in a pocket of the world that seems concealed from human touch; a peace that’s broken by the repetitive sound of metal striking dirt...

Curses...
The guests, few of them, though there were, stared in amazement at the scene before them. Beautiful and terrifying, the tropical cliff face was rocky and rough. Even if they had been able to bring chairs up here, they wouldn’t have been able to sit comfortably, but that didn’t matter. Mesmerizing was the view of a thousand miles of dense forest, complemented by the crystal lake several hundred feet below. Who would think to get married here? The edge of a cliff... One step in the wrong direction and you could easily plummet to your death.

The Wife Beater
The Wife Beater By John Alan Negich It was a steamy Florida night in the panhandle the spring of 1954 and I, John Stanic, was on yet another mission to answer the call to do what I do best, and that is to dole out justice to those who commit unforgivable acts but never receive a sentence for those heinous crimes. My objective tonight was to eliminate The Wife Beater, abuser, and husband of my friend Shelly Aiken. Shelly was my nurse while I convalesced at a rehabilitation facility and was instrumental in restoring me back to health after a terrible life threatening encounter with a couple of rednecks during an attempted robbery. I owed her my life and I was about to give her life back to her. I went over my plan again and again as I waited in the Oldsmobile until well after midnight.

Red Phone
“Dan, do you remember?” A soft unfamiliar voice came from the other line. “Who is this?” I asked. My head pounded and my eyes struggled to adjust to the dark. I reached over to my night stand and grabbed the water bottle that sat near my alarm clock. My alarm clock read 3:36.

Jonah's Grin
shit Jonah's ~Preface~ Jonah's bike was a Red Radio Flyer with a pull along basket and training wheels. Odd for a man well into his thirties to still need training wheels. But he did. Some say that the reason he needed them was because he suffered from an extreme case of autism. I really don’t think that’s the case.
