For new residents

Dear New Residents of Cedar Heights,

Welcome to our community! As you settle into your new home, we'd like to bring to your attention some essential guidelines to ensure your safety and comfort within our premises. While Cedar Heights is known for its modern amenities and friendly neighborhood, there are certain quirks and characteristics of the building that you should be aware of.

Cedar Heights Elevator Guidelines:

1. The elevators operate from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. If you find them working outside these hours, especially between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM, do not enter. It's not our service.

2. Always select your floor manually. If the elevator moves to a different floor without being prompted, especially the second basement (which doesn't officially exist), stay calm. Do not exit until you reach a familiar floor.

3. The elevators have mirrors on three sides. If you ever see more than your own reflection, or if your reflection doesn't mimic your actions, close your eyes and count to ten. When you open them, things should be normal. If not, repeat until they are.

4. The soft, ambient music inside is there for your comfort. However, if you ever hear a lullaby or a soft humming that doesn't come from the speakers, press the nearest floor button and exit immediately.

5. If the elevator stalls between floors, hit the emergency button. While waiting, avoid any conversations with unseen entities. They might claim to know you, but they don't. They're echoes of It.

6. If you enter the elevator and find a neighbor inside who doesn't acknowledge you, keep your eyes down. It's not really them. When you reach your floor, exit promptly without looking back.

Remember, the elevators are a convenience, but they can also be a trap. Trust your instincts, and if in doubt, take the stairs. But be cautious there too; for as the old residents whisper, "It doesn't only lurk in the elevators."

Cedar Heights Stairwell Guidelines:

1. The stairwell lights are on a timer, set to dim every 15 minutes for energy conservation. If they go out completely, especially between floors, stand still. Count to thirty. They should come back on. If not, use the flashlight on your phone, but never light a match or lighter.

2. It's common to hear footsteps echoing, given the acoustics. However, if the footsteps mirror yours or sound like they're getting closer when you're standing still, find an exit immediately. It might be trying to find a way in.

3. The stairwells have small windows for natural light. If you ever see a face peering in, especially one that's upside down, do not engage. Continue as if you saw nothing. It's just another one of Its tricks.

4. Sometimes, you might hear faint whispers, like a conversation just out of earshot. If you can't make out the words, continue on. But if you hear your name, or a plea for help, do not follow the voice. It's not coming from a resident.

5. Always pay attention to the floor numbers painted on the doors and walls. If you find yourself descending or ascending more flights than the building has, or if you come across a floor number that's a single digit repeated thrice, like 333 or 666, turn around and go back. You've strayed from the path.

6. These are located on every other floor and are alarmed. However, if you ever feel an overwhelming sense of dread or see the stairwell stretching endlessly, it's better to trigger the alarm and get out. Some fates are worse than dealing with the authorities.

The stairwells in Cedar Heights have seen many residents come and go, and not all have made it out. It's said that the echoes of their last steps can still be heard. So, always be alert, trust your instincts, and remember: It's always watching, always waiting.

Cedar Heights Parking Lot Guidelines:

1. The parking lot has spaces numbered from 1 to 100. However, residents have occasionally reported seeing spaces numbered 101 or higher. If you ever find your car parked in one of these extra spaces, especially space 666, move it immediately. Those spaces tend to "shift" locations, and you might not find your car where you left it.

2. There are surveillance cameras installed throughout the parking lot for your safety. If you notice a camera following your movements or turning to face you directly, it's best to leave the area. It's said that "It" sometimes watches through these lenses.

3. The parking lot, being open, shouldn't echo. If you hear your footsteps echoing back or a duplicate of any sound you make, stop making noise. Wait a few moments, then proceed quietly. Echoes are how "It" finds you.

4. The parking lot is on the second basement level, and the basement level is not open to residents.

5. Your car's alarm might go off without any apparent reason. If this happens, especially between 2:00 AM and 3:33 AM, do not approach your vehicle. Instead, notify building security. They're trained to handle such occurrences.

6. The parking lot is on the second basement level, and the basement level is not open to residents.

The parking lot of Cedar Heights, like the rest of the building, has its quirks and mysteries. While it serves its primary purpose well, it's always wise to be vigilant. After all, cars aren't the only things that come and go in that lot.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We hope you have a pleasant stay at Cedar Heights.

Warm regards,

Cedar Heights Management Team
