Reflections of Horror

When an Haunted Mirror Reveals an Alternate Reality

By NoahPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. It was a distorted version of myself. My eyes were dark and sunken, and my skin was pale and clammy. I watched, transfixed, as the reflection in the mirror started to shift and change, revealing an alternate reality.

At first, I thought it was just my imagination. But then, I started to notice strange things happening around me. Objects would move on their own, and the air around me would suddenly grow colder. I knew that something was off, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.

As the days went by, the presence in the mirror grew stronger. It was as if the alternate reality was bleeding into my own, seeping through the cracks in reality. And then, one day, I found myself staring into the mirror once again.

This time, the reflection showed a completely different world. It was a desolate, barren wasteland, with twisted trees and dark clouds looming overhead. In the distance, I could see a figure approaching, slowly making its way towards me.

As the figure drew closer, I could see that it was a woman. Her hair was wild and unkempt, and her eyes were black pits of darkness. She reached out towards me, her hand pressing against the glass of the mirror.

I tried to pull away, but I couldn't. It was as if I was stuck, held in place by some unseen force. The woman's fingers crept closer and closer, until they were just inches away from my own.

And then, she disappeared.

I stumbled backwards, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that I had to get rid of the mirror, that I couldn't let whatever was on the other side bleed into my own reality.

But every time I tried to throw it away, it would reappear, like it was mocking me. I started to see things in the mirror that I couldn't explain. I saw people I didn't know, places I had never been. And then, I saw something that chilled me to the bone.

It was a figure, standing behind me in the reflection. It was just a shadow at first, but then it started to take shape. It was a woman, but she was twisted and deformed, her face contorted into a grotesque mask of rage.

I tried to turn around, but I couldn't move. It was as if I was paralyzed, stuck in place by some unseen force. I could feel the woman's breath on my neck, and I knew that I was in grave danger.

As the days went on, the presence in the mirror grew stronger. It was as if the other world was slowly bleeding into mine, seeping through the cracks in reality. And then, one day, it happened.

I woke up to find that I was no longer alone. The woman from the mirror was standing at the foot of my bed, her twisted features contorted into a manic grin. I screamed, but she didn't move. She just stood there, staring at me with her lifeless eyes.

That was when I knew that I was no longer safe in my own world. The mirror had shown me an alternate reality, and now that reality was bleeding into mine. I was trapped, a prisoner in my own home, with no way out. And all I could do was wait, and pray that someone would come to save me before it was too late.

I tried to reach out for help, but no one believed me. They thought I was crazy, that I had lost my mind. But I knew the truth. The mirror was haunted, and it was slowly destroying me.

In the end, I was left with no choice. I smashed the mirror to pieces, shattering it into
