Red Eye is an Insane and Thrill Ride from Start to Finish
I finally got to watch this movie, and wow, was it damn scary.

Red Eye has been on my movie list for quite a long time. I have been waiting for the day to finally get the chance to watch this film, and it finally came on a random Sunday evening, while I was wondering what the hell I wanted to watch on Netflix.
I accidentally came across Red Eye, and I immediately put on the film, so damn happy I finally got to check it out! I was in shock to discover that Wes Craven, the genius behind the slasher genre of the Scream franchise, was the one who directed this film!
I became even more excited as the story was barely starting to progress in the beginning, and I was wondering what kind of film I was about to watch. I was left freaking out in several scenes, and in shock from how ruthless the directing felt in this one.
I was honestly surprised that Cillian Murphy, the main actor who plays the villain in the movie, did not like his performance in this one. I thought he did a damn good job, dude was so freaking scary!
The story follows a woman named Lisa, who is introduced as a strong individual who works in a hotel.

The movie begins with Lisa, a young woman who has no idea what kind of horrors are awaiting her. She is a strong character, who helps an employee deal with rude customers in a hotel over the phone. She knows the kind of advice to give her employee, Cynthia, to make sure their little customer problem will be solved without any troubles.
It works, and Lisa calls her dad to assure him that she is doing alright. She is determined to make it to her flight to go back to her job in Florida, after attending a funeral for her grandmother. She meets a handsome man named Jackson Rippner, and they engage in a friendly banter while at a bar and in line at the airport.
Lisa runs into him again on the plane, when she finds out in a weird coincidence, that Jackson has taken the seat next to her on the plane.
They chat again and during the plane takeoff, and Lisa starts to find Jackson strange when he mentions some creepy shit from out of the blue. She immediately freaks out when he drops a huge bombshell on her.
Jackson is planning to murder a man staying at her hotel, and he will need Lisa's help to pull off his plan.

Lisa obviously freaks out over finding out about this information, and Jackson tells her that if she doesn't comply, her father will die. It turns out that Jackson came prepared, and has his own assassin on standby ready to kill her father if Lisa does not do what he says.
Lisa tries her best to overthrow Jackson's plans during the first act of the film, but no matter what she does, Jackson finds a way to stop her. I could not believe how evil this bastard was. He head butted her to make her pass out on the plane, and he threatened her in the restroom during a very uncomfortable scene.
He reveals a scar she had received, that had been shown in the beginning of the film. He asks her where she got it from, but she does not answer him, that really pisses the dude off. They then go back to their seats, where Lisa finally gives in to his demands.
She makes the phone call to Cynthia at the hotel, and she has Jackson's target sent to a different hotel room, where the murder plot will be carried out. Then she gets a shocking realization when Jackson reveals to her that the man's family will also be there, and will be killed as well.
Lisa decides to take matters into her own hands to stop Jackson's plan.

Right when the plan is about to land, Lisa decides to trick Jackson by telling him about how she got her scar. She had experienced a brutal attack from a man who held her at knifepoint, but she vowed to be the one win her next fight. She stabs Jackson in the throat with a pen she had stolen from a random kid, and she makes her escape once the plan lands.
Jackson rips out the pen and covers his wound with a scarf, and runs after her. Lisa had purposely stabbed him in the throat, so that he wouldn't be able to give out the order for her father's death.
Pretty damn genius.
Lisa makes a quick phone call with Jackson's own phone she had stolen during their confrontation, and she is able to save the man and his family from death. She fails to call her father when the phone dies, but she is able to kill the assassin with a stolen car before he can go inside her home to kill her father.
Lisa reunites with her father, but she is now faced with her final challenge.
Jackson breaks into her home, and Lisa is now fighting for her own survival.

This is where the film becomes a horror movie.
And I loved it.
Lisa fights against Jackson with everything that she has, when she finds her father passed out in the kitchen. Jackson had knocked him out when he arrived to the home, and we witness a brutal fight.
Jackson was super pissed that Lisa had foiled his plans, and he wanted to make her suffer for it. Lisa stabs him with a shoe heel, beats him with a weapon, calls 911, and even taunts him at the same time.
Lisa was a damn menace in this scene, and it felt good to see Jackson freak out for once. He gets the upper hand when she loses her weapon, but she finds the gun that his assassin had brought to murder her father. She shoots Jackson on the side, but he is able to remove the gun from Lisa.
She is saved by her father, and Jackson is stopped for good.
The movie ends with Lisa going to the hotel to comfort Cynthia, and she goes to the bar to spend time with her, after telling the same asshole customers in the beginning of the film to shove their complaints right up their asses.
I died of laughter in this scene, and I thought it was a brilliant way to end the film. Lisa was an awesome final girl, and I was so proud of her with the way she fought back against Jackson. That woman was a total badass!
