Late at night, I stood alone on a deserted street, trying to catch a taxi to go home. From a distance, I saw a taxi slowly approaching, so I quickly waved it down. The car stopped right in front of me, and the driver rolled down the window and asked, "Where are the three of you headed?" Hearing that, I froze, and a wave of fear hit me instantly. I quickly opened the door, got into the back seat, and, in a panic, said, "Drive fast, I'll pay you double!" Without asking further, the driver pressed the gas pedal and sped off.
After driving for a while, I began to calm down, my breathing steadying, and the sense of safety returning. But suddenly, the driver turned his head, looked at me through the rearview mirror with a strange expression, then smiled and asked, "So, where are you going now?" His question sent a chill down my spine, and the uneasiness and fear resurfaced, making me realize I might not have escaped this eerie situation yet.
