My childhood experiences on ghosts, elementals, and other creepy beings.
Albany Street
As a continuation on my previous story, a lot happened in my town were I grew up. When my parent's told my brother and I that we will have a new brother, I felt excited because I will have a baby brother. I was 7yrs old when I learn that my mother was pregnant. In our home we have like 9 dogs at that time and cats. Since it was a company property, dogs are placed in almost every part of the property to avoid keep us safe from people who wants to get some machine parts to sell on junkshop.
One midnight my mother woke me up and asked me to accompany her to refill our dogs' water. Before we went outside the door, we heard bats outside which is normal for us because bats are common in Antipolo. But we were shocked when two bats came to our window which is made of screen. They stayed there for like quite sometime and flew away. Then we decided to go out. While we were filling our dogs water cups, suddenly they started to bark at the same time. We didn't finish what we're doing and my mother said that we need to get inside the house. While going back, I noticed something in our roof, I couldn't say what it is exactly because it was a large wing, I cannot see a face or body but a very large pair of wing, feathered. Like an eagle but double the size of a regular man. But nothing happened that night. We just saw it and heard some crawling in the roof. My father wasn't there that time because of work. In the morning my mother just told my father what happened and he said that it is a "manananggal" a Philippine mythical creature that can separate her body in half. My father believe in "aswangs" which include manananggal because back in his hometown in Bicol Province, my father and his siblings know personally someone who is "manananggal" who lives in their village. It is hard to believe but when my uncles are around it is one of their topic. Where they were escorted by that "woman" while they are going home at night. The "manananggal" escorted my father and uncles to keep them safe going home, and after that "she" will fly away to another village going for her victim, her dinner is always a fresh child from a womb of a pregnant woman. My father told me that, that "woman" never kill from their village but always took her victim on another town.
That happened when I was in elementary, and one time in our street, near the dead end there was a large tree, as far as I remember it was a "Balete Tree". People cut it down but I didn't care too much because I don't usually go far in that area. Years passed, my brother and I became friends with people living there at the dead end part. We play basketball outside their house where the tree was once standing tall. Our friends Kurt "Otang" and Klein "Oti" are living with their parents renting in an apartment owned by Kim. I never got to know Kim that time because she is older than me. When I got to highschool I became her schoolmate and we got the same service going to and from school. I call then her "Ate Kim" meaning an older sister. We were studying at National Christian Life College, a school in Marikina City (Which I have a lot of creepy experiences there to be told in my next story).
Thru ate Kim, she told me the story why the tree was cut down. It is because of a "manananggal"! I was in awe and a little bit amazed because my experience when I was a child was connected to her story. One evening, ate Kim and her mom was watching TV and suddenly a loud noise caught their attention, like something fell in their back kitchen which is an open area. They thought of might a thief so they call their houseboy "John Llyod"* to check what it is and when he look, he saw a winged creature crashed in the back kitchen. It is larger than him and just flew away. As per ate Kim's story the "manananggal" might be hurt because the tree was partially cut then, they believe that because of some axe marks on the tree, it is connected to the creature and got injured.
After I hear that from ate Kim, I knew that I was not the one alone saw it. Of course my mother saw it also.
Okay just a break from the story. Ate Kim's house boy "John Lloyd" was now a celebrity in the Philippines. He just got discovered one time when he was instructed to buy some groceries at a mall. Since then John Lloyd build his house at the same village as ours, in Vermont Park Village in Antipolo City.
On part III of my story I will tell my experiences on my highschool building at National Christian Life College. Where I saw doppleganger, floating flags etc. And why there are many horror stories from that building even before it was built.

Albany Street I grew up in Vermont Park village in Antipolo City, Philippines. My childhood was full of incomprehensible memories I remember. Our home back then was a bungalow style straight house. with a more than a 1000sqm lot. We are not rich it was just a company owned property where my father works up until this time. Before I was born or maybe I'm a baby, there was an earth element, like a fairy but male. We call it "engkanto", as my mom described, it was wearing an all white suit and extremely handsome. Every night for few months, my mom sees it standing outside our house several meters away, and when midnight strucks while my mother and father are sleeping, my mom will suddenly awaken and she'll feel numbness all of her body. She cannot move here head or hands, she couldn't even speak to ask help to my father. The only thing she can do is move her eyes, while the front door will open by itself, then she hear footsteps coming and the bedroom door will open by itself also and the "engkanto" moves closer to my mom. And it will force himself on my mom, it's just like having sex but with clothes on as per my mom. It happened every night for months. Until suddenly it stops, good thing that it was not like the other "engkantos" rumored that when after forcing itself on the victim, the woman will be pregnant but without child inside the womb and it eventually will die. It is scary to think, but somehow it was gentle to my mother because if not, maybe I wouldn't be here on earth haha.

The Station Without Trains
Seen (1) At the far end of a desert highway stood a train station that no map acknowledged. There were no tracks leading to it, no schedules posted, and no trains that ever arrived. Still, every evening at sunset, the lights turned on. Maya found the station by accident while driving cross-country to escape a life that felt too heavy. Her radio had gone silent miles ago, and her phone showed no signal. When she saw the station glowing in the distance, she pulled over, relieved to find signs of life. The station was clean, almost untouched by time. Wooden benches lined the platform, and an old clock hung above the entrance, forever stuck at 6:40. The air smelled of dust and iron, like a place waiting to be used. “Hello?” Maya called. No answer. She sat on a bench, telling herself she would leave in five minutes. But as the sun disappeared, the lights grew warmer, softer. Calm settled over her in a way she hadn’t felt in years. A man in a conductor’s uniform stepped out from the shadows. His clothes looked old-fashioned, but neatly pressed. His face was kind, though tired. “You’re early,” he said. “Early for what?” Maya asked. “For the train,” he replied. Maya frowned. “There are no tracks.” The man smiled gently. “Not all journeys need them.” He explained that this station was a place between leaving and arriving—a pause for those who were lost, grieving, or running from something they couldn’t name. People didn’t come here on purpose. They arrived when they needed stillness. “Does the train ever come?” Maya asked. “Yes,” he said. “But only once for each person.” Maya felt a tightness in her chest. “Where does it go?” The conductor looked at the horizon. “To the life you stopped believing in.” Maya thought of the dreams she had abandoned, the version of herself she no longer recognized. Tears surprised her, sliding down her face without warning. “I don’t know if I’m ready,” she whispered. The conductor nodded. “That’s why the train hasn’t arrived.” They sat in silence as the stars appeared. For the first time in years, Maya didn’t feel the urge to run. She felt seen. Slowly, the station lights dimmed. The conductor stood. “When you leave,” he said, “you won’t remember this place. But you’ll remember how you felt.” A distant sound echoed—not a train horn, but something close to a heartbeat. Maya blinked. She was back in her car, parked on the side of the empty highway. The station was gone. The road stretched endlessly ahead. But her chest felt lighter. She turned the key and drove forward, not knowing exactly where she was going—but certain, for the first time, that she was finally on the right track.
