My Horror Experience at Home

Alone at home on a windy night, I heard eerie creaks and found the attic door ajar. Investigating, I saw a shadowy figure with glowing eyes. Panicked, I fled and locked myself in. By morning, the attic was normal, but the chilling feeling still haunts me.

The previous night I was alone in the house planning to enjoy horror movies but. The raw anger of the gale was outside, and the house was full of a deep, stillness. By night, especially as the night progressed, I began hearing noises which I could not explain on the hallway side. At first, I thought it was caused by the house adjusting to the people living in it, but the noises increased — they sounded like footsteps of someone walking very slowly in the corridor.

Being afraid in the dark I attempted to shrug it off, and stepped outside to take a closer look at what had caused it. Being equipped only with the light from my phone, I entered the dark hallway. Even when walking I was palpating with anxiety. All of a sudden, I saw that the door to the attic was open; it was shut some time ago. Of course I got goose pimples but I decided I move closer to have a look.

The hall was dark and had furniture that could have been disposed of long time ago. I moved my flashlight around the room, and could see the reflection of glowing eyes in one corner of the room. A shape was slowly getting sharper and the figure was standing out in the dark. I climbed the stairs as fast as I could, closed the attic door as tight as I could and locked myself in the living room scared stiff.

The rest of the night, I watched anxiously, waiting for each noise to kick start my heartbeat. The next morning at dawn I went back to the attic and viewed it. All appeared to be running as it should, the door was soundly closed. However, this feeling of horror never subsided.

Even now, the nature or the extent of what I saw that night I can’t seem to comprehend. Could it be my mind, a flicker of the light, or was it simply paranormal? That is all which I know — now I only feel in that house it is awful to be alone. At times, to be more specific, it is things that one cannot attempt to explain that are the most horrific.
