Beyond control.

There was only one rule: don't open the door... Rules were nothing but laughable annoyances...to them.

I wasn't expecting a migraine that evening; they rarely happen twice in a month. Through repetition, I learned to act my way around them. No one needed to know my peculiar issues. No one...

Sitting with throbbing temples and tense shoulders, I closed my eyes. Darkness assisted control. Not of pain, but what comes after.

Horned silhouettes painted the back of my eyelids, waiting to unleash a flood of infectious evil for no less than a full hour. How much time I had, I didn't know. When the aching head pain subsides, the skin-crawling sounds of death invade my skull. Motor skills are arrested soon after, forcing me into heinous acts.

Seclusion is paramount!

Nearing the edge of sleep, I noticed the pain was GONE! I jerked to attention, prepared to fight for control of my own body.

But they were always stronger...

Each leg moved on its own until I was standing, then walking. I desperately wanted to cling onto anything solid, but my limbs ignored simple commands.

Possessive forces stopped me near the locked door. Realizing their next move, a gut-dropping, shock wave rattled my innards. Not one person there knew I was on the brink of a becoming an evil pawn—no warnings could verbalize.

Mentally accosted, the last of my resistance, relinquished...

Checkmate!

I felt myself being rushed to the FUCKING door! With enhanced strength, they forced it open using my hands! The sudden loss of cabin pressure sucked me out the jetliner instantly! One by one, several other passengers were ripped out too.

Gravity tumbled me through a dramatic rush of wind until my divorce from evil was granted…in a solid impact with the waiting earth.

This is a chilling and suspenseful tale!👌✔ The exploration of the protagonist's internal struggle against an external force is both fascinating and terrifying. The abrupt and shocking conclusion leaves the reader pondering the nature of the supernatural and the fragility of human existence. .... OMG🙌 ... very well done! Mr. Lamar Wiggins

Well-wrought! Great twist ending! I haven't suffered from migraines for many years--praise the Divine!--but when I did I always imagined there was an imp loboriously drilling his way out of my skull. Your story captured that well. To anyone who suffers from them, my deepest condolences! I hope they go away!
