When it comes to Stalin, people often think of his iron fisted rule, the rise of the Soviet Union, and that heavy history, but few people know that there are many chilling supernatural rumors circulating around this Soviet supreme leader. These stories shuttle through the cracks of history, difficult to distinguish between truth and falsehood, but they become more and more mysterious. Today, I will slowly tell you about them.

The most spine chilling event is undoubtedly the 'Zodiac Death' incident during the Great Purge of the 1930s. It was a late night when Stalin, Molotov, and Kaganovich were having a banquet in their villa garden. The three of them were arguing about the name of a constellation in the sky - Molotov said it was Orion, but Kaganovich insisted it was Cassiopeia, and no one would give in. Stalin smiled and said that asking an expert would reveal the truth, and immediately asked his secretary to call the planetarium.

At that time, the planetarium was already a place where everyone was in danger. The old director and a group of top astronomers had already been "cleaned up", and the new director was a military officer from the Ministry of Internal Affairs who didn't understand astronomy and couldn't answer at all. He dared not neglect and sent a car overnight to hire an astronomer who had survived by chance. But since his friend was arrested one after another, this scholar has been in a constant state of anxiety. In the late night, he heard the urgent doorbell and saw the car parked downstairs, instantly realizing that his end had come. As soon as he opened the door, he suddenly suffered a heart attack and collapsed at the door, losing his breath.

The person sent had no choice but to find another elderly astronomer. The old man lived upstairs and was awakened by the doorbell at 2:30 in the morning. He saw the car downstairs through the window and also thought that the deadline was approaching. He didn't want to endure the humiliation of interrogation, so he jumped out of the window and died on the spot. By the time the new director finally found out the constellation answer and called back at 5 o'clock in the morning, Stalin and others had already fallen asleep and no one knew. This casual question indirectly "took away" two lives, and the knocking on the door that night became the most feared reminder for intellectuals at that time.

If the "death of the constellation" carries the shadow of fear of the times, then the "apparition rumors" after Stalin's death are even more bizarre. On March 5, 1953, the news of Stalin's death spread throughout the Soviet Union, but not long after, there were rumors of a "leader's apparition" in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, and other places. A factory worker claimed to have clearly seen Stalin wearing a marshal's uniform in his dream, standing in the workshop and saying to him, "Don't worry, I will come back

Even more bizarre is the collective sighting of a factory in Ukraine: the Stalin portrait hanging in the workshop inexplicably shed tears, and the workers panicked and wiped it with handkerchiefs, only to find that the wet marks were real and tangible, not water vapor or paint peeling off. For a time, rumors of Stalin's resurrection spread wildly among the people, and many refused to believe that the leader was dead. Some even stayed by Stalin's tomb day and night, claiming to hear faint sounds coming from inside. Later, psychologists analyzed that this may be a collective illusion after the collapse of people's beliefs under long-term personality cult, but no one has been able to provide a reasonable explanation for those real tears and clear dream descriptions.

There is also a rumor related to Stalin's personal wizard and mysterious curse, which, although not officially recorded, is widely circulated among the Georgian people. It is said that after Stalin came to power, he secretly hired a Georgian mystic to help him manipulate power through mysticism. During the Great Purge in 1937, Stalin also sent an archaeological team to dig up the ancient queen's tomb on the banks of the Alagevi River in his hometown, and retrieved a bronze mask with obsidian eyes, rumored to reveal the fate of the rulers.

Strangely, on the night the mask was unearthed, in the special prison where members of the Trotskyist faction were being held, the prisoners suddenly suffered a collective mental breakdown and shouted, 'Black eyes are watching, killing each other.'. In 1953, before Stalin fell to the ground due to a stroke, his personal guards found unburned parchment fragments in his fireplace, with the words written in Gurugia script: "When the three eagles devour the new moon, the sower will pierce his heart with the tumor he cultivated for himself." "Sower" was Stalin's underground code name at the seminary when he was young. Even more terrifying, according to his personal doctor's account, before Stalin's death, his pupils mysteriously split into two peaks and he shouted in a long lost dialect, "The mask is back!" Seven days later, the bronze mask mysteriously disappeared from the National Museum and never appeared again.

In addition, rumors of the "Stalin ghost" at Moscow State University have been circulating for decades. The great main building is one of Stalin's "seven sisters" buildings. It is said that during the construction period, many prisoners died in accidents. The guards built the bodies directly into the walls to save time. Later on, every night, there would be inexplicable footsteps in the corridors of the main building, and sometimes blurry ghost figures could be seen emerging from the walls, looking at the students in the classroom - some people said that these ghosts were the prisoners who died tragically back then, and their appearance was always closely linked to Stalin's name, as if accusing those dark years.

These supernatural rumors are mixed with the fear of the times, some stem from people's beliefs and obsessions, and some are unverified folk interpretations. They may not be actual supernatural events, but they are like a mirror reflecting the heaviness and strangeness of that era. Nowadays, Stalin's tomb stands quietly under the walls of the Kremlin, and the white marble tombstone remains silent. However, the late night knocking on doors, tears on portraits, and ghosts in the walls still linger in the shadows of history, telling the story of an unknown and eerie past.
