The Puddle Gaze
The rain was a cold, insistent slap against Finn’s face the moment he pushed through the swinging doors of the diner. Ten hours of frying grease and fake smiles, and this was his reward. The city was a slick, dark beast, its asphalt skin glistening under the jagged scars of neon light. Blues, reds, sickening greens. Everything blurred, everything bled into everything else, especially in the puddles.

I'm Sad We Will Never Get a Rated - R Jurassic Park
I recently started reading the Jurassic Park book, that I had no idea existed. I only read a couple of chapters, and now I'm so sad that we are never going to get a Rated - R Jurassic Park. The book starts off so strong, and I couldn't believe how violent these deaths were.

Horror in the High Desert 4: Majesty - A Frustrating Experience
My review of the first three films in the series can be found here. *** I'm officially frustrated. The long-awaited fourth and penultimate film in the Horror in the High Desert series, Majesty, adds little to pique interest in the overall lore. Instead, it becomes more tangled, adding more characters and lore that muddy the water even more instead of clarifying it. I defended the first three movies with the caveat that the last two movies needed to pick up the pace.

The Valley of Glass Flowers
Silas had followed the old prospector's map for two weeks, dust caked to his lungs, sun beating down on his worn hat. The old man, half-mad with fever, had whispered about a "valley of glass flowers" before he finally checked out in that ramshackle clinic in Dust Devil Gulch. Silas didn't believe in magic, not really, but the glint in the dying man's eye, the sheer conviction, it had lodged itself somewhere behind Silas’s ribs. And hell, anything was better than another busted claim in the blistering heat. This valley, the map claimed, lay beyond the Devil’s Tooth, a jagged peak nobody much bothered to climb anymore.

The Azure Hunger
Arthur’s life was gray, mostly. A gray cubicle, gray spreadsheets, the gray light of a damp morning commute. He liked it that way, orderly, predictable. Then came the faintest tickle, a phantom note, whenever he caught sight of the delivery guy’s bright blue uniform, or the endless scroll of a Facebook feed. Not a flavor, not really, more like an impression, a cold, dry whisper on the back of his tongue, like metal left out in winter. He’d blink, swallow, dismiss it as one of those weird fleeting sensations, a leftover ghost from breakfast, maybe. But it kept happening. Blue, then that taste.

Yeongdeok Haunted House: Korea’s Most Terrifying Abandoned Ghost House
The Yeongdeok Haunted House (영덕흉가), or simply Yeongdeok House, is a haunted mansion situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean within Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It does not look any stranger than any typical old haunted house – two stories, paint peeling off, windows smashed, and a whole lot of disrepair. However, this haunted house has been a legend in Korea for many decades as being among the most haunted sites within the country.
