Howl
HOWL HOWL "Is anyone out there!? Please!" I can't be alone anymore, I don't want this life, I refuse this. All of it. Ever since my change, I've wanted nothing but to slaughter the young, old, innocent. Who would want this? I grow more and more scared of the voice behind my eyes that whispers "Us."

A Common Man's View: 'Hush'
Currently trending in Netflix's horror scene is a delightful little flick called Hush. Mike Flanagan's 2016 slasher has come across my path a few times over the past year, and I vehemently avoided it, like I do most shadows lurking in my oft-empty house. I wish I had done a bit more research before turning it away, I always know a Blumhouse film is sure to enthrall me.

My Top Favorite Horror Films Coming Out This Year
The first on my list is going to be Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare that comes out this April. This film really caught my attention with just the trailer alone. It starts off with a group of people playing the truth or dare game. The game is suddenly stopped when a guy tells the truth that he only wants to be around one of the girls to play and get rid of the game. He considers the game a curse and he’s ready to be left alone. The key is to tell the truth and do the dare. If you don’t, you die. There is no escaping this game, and it only ends when all the players are dead. While this won’t be the scariest film of the year, I think the concept is kind of cool. Yes, I’ve seen something similar, but the aesthetic of the “players,” once they’re involved in the game, is something I’m looking forward to as well.

My Haunted Life
Most people go through life and nothing out of the ordinary or strange happens to them. I am not one of those people. I am not a psychic or a medium. I am just a woman who has experienced paranormal activity since the young age of four. My entire life I have wanted to know why this happens to me.

Descent Into Darkness Chapter Three
Aerion, Aesteria 1871 Rayvn sat in front of the mirror, brushing out her hair. Her hands were shaking and her breath was coming quickly as her heart pounded. Memories of the night before replayed over and over again as she tried to find yet another way out of this marriage. Rayne didn't seem much happier, though she would be marrying Marrow, at least that was her father's plan. They had come up with one of their own. Neither woman was happy with the suitor she had been betrothed to, so Rayne had come up with a way for herself to be happy at least.

Something Happened Out There...
They were circling the cabin again. Out here in the woods, isolated from the noise pollution and general electric hum emanating from every street lamp and central air system of modern life, every footstep sounds like the hoof of a bull tamping the dust. They weren't exactly trying to hide their presence; for almost a week They relentlessly pressured Jessica, escalating their sensory assaults sporadically. This late in the game she had abandoned her initial "heroic" attempt to ignore her emotions and her memories. Every night of this so far had started the same way, but the days were always different. It was always worst when the sun was up.

My Roommate Is a Demon
Ugh. I totally have the worst roommate ever. I don't care if your cousin's friend's hairdresser once had a roommate that ended up being a serial killer. My situation is totally worse. I'm sure you are probably thinking, how on earth could this girl's situation be worse? She is totally such a drama queen. Well it fucking is okay? And you better listen to my story or I swear to god I'LL FUCKING POP A—

Brilliant
As I looked out the stuffy window of my bedroom, I saw the crystal clear icicles hanging down and the majestic sun setting above the dark, silhouetted trees. The dusty orange and soft blue gradient covered the evening sky as I saw a flickering light in the center of the endless painted scenery in front of me. My sister callowly assumed it was a star, but my father made it a point to honorably argue that it could've been a satellite or a planet.

Descent Into Darkness Prologue
Aerion, Aesteria 1855 A scream came from the birthing chamber of Lillian and Jace Black as the Marchioness was told once more by the midwife to push. Jace was outside the chamber, pacing as he listened to his wife's screams. The Marquess prayed for the first time in years as he ran his hands through his fiery red hair, that his wife would bring safe delivery to their children and survive the night herself. Once again, he listened to her cry out and winced, but the cries that followed brought joy through his fear. He watched as a nursemaid rushed past, giving him a glimpse of the woman he cherished most in this life. She looked exhausted, sweat beads could be seen dotting her forehead, tendrils of her curly onyx hair plastered to her cheeks in the dim firelight. The door closed and he took a deep breath. He had only heard one child cry, there was still another to come but this was the moment in which he feared most. With the last child, his dearest Lillian's fate would be forever sealed.

Descent into Darkness Chapter One
Aerion, Aesteria 1860 Rayvn and Rayne sat silently as they listened to their nanny speak idly of the books they were to read, but neither really seemed to pay attention. Rayvn's ocean blue gaze continued to drift out the window of the castle, watching the sun glisten off the ocean below. From the north tower where they sat, she had a clear view of the sprawling ocean, the wind pushing the small waves against the coast.
