And the fragrance murders

!!!!!The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own!!!!! It bled images of lovely sultry and mysterious petaled faces staring back at me. In great puzzlement, I wondered how that was at all possible, no such images were around me. Now it has changed to a dark beauty, a potpourri of delectably sweet nectar seeping from her eyes and skin. I was mesmerized, fascinated and horrified.

Suddenly, unexpectedly, the faces started bleeding from the mirror, tendrils reaching, grasping, climbing. I turned to run but my feet were glued to the floor. Up the thing crawled, up under my skin, slithering like worms. I felt unearthly cold sickening fingers wrap themselves around my entire body. I gagged as it clawed at my throat. I was being transformed by the mirrored heads. Transformed into sweet tendrils of lies blooming insincerely. Out of such wonderous beauty, sprung a wellspring of beguiling unseen sacred truths and lies. I was being devoured by evil. I felt damned. No longer knowing where truths ended and where the lies began.

Each night now, they come to me. Bid me take poisonous floral temptations to chosen souls. I am Cupid, not the one from whom ardent arrows of love fly to eager hearts and leave love fluttering in tender breasts.

No!!!! KUPID I AM. My flamed missiles always fly straight and true, taking love and life. With arrows of dissent I spread the devil's lies, hatred, war, distrust, heresy, confusion. jealousy, spitefulness, cowardice, general mayhem and most importantly murderousness most delicious and divine.

"Life flows from our devious inner secret places

bursting forth like flowery pungent fragrant blossoms

worn like rare Sapphire crowns adorning our faces.

I dream at nights of lovely awful faces,

tendrils like elegant snakes slithering forth

from a spine tingling fragrant floral garden

thrusting forth from ghastly unearthly heads".

I whispered thus into Eve's ear in the Garden of Eden.

Eve had been my first recruit into wickedness, Adam far too easily prompted to follow suit. Puny humans are so easily bewitched by love's temptations. Yes, your face reflected in the mirror is now mine. Humans so love their reflections, it is a curse. So I enter easily preying on their fragility and insipid need to validate themselves.

Then there was that first murder, Cain killing Abel. All my doing.

In the biblical Book of Genesis, Cain and Abel are the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, the firstborn, was a farmer, and his brother Abel was a shepherd. The brothers made sacrifices to God, but God favored Abel's sacrifice instead of Cain's. Cain then murdered Abel, whereupon God punished Cain by condemning him to a life of wandering. I walked with him, but that is a story for another time.

Rose sits in front of the mirror, it is Friday night, her date awaits. She does not know what he hides. Her doorbell rings, a messenger brings a fragrant Jasmine flower, the aroma spellbinding and pungently sumptuous. No note is attached, she assumes it is from her new lover to be. Rose smiles, it is going to be a wonderful night. They dance the night away, taking it slow, she tells him, we just met. In the car he forces himself on her, he squeezes her chest, grabs her tits. From the aromatic Jasmine a tiny pin emerges, one tiny prick and it is over.

Run Rose. Run.

Mair and Janai are so in love. Janai has a wandering eye. Mair has a horrible jealous streak. Someone had given her lover a Summersweet 'Vanilla spice ' bloom. She did not trust when told that Janai knew not from where it came. Only that it smelled heavenly. Janai lifted it to her nose and smiled, Mair lunged, grabbed it tight, poison pierced her soul, she was dead.

Run Janai. Run.

Oh what fun outside of this mirror. I try to claw myself back into myself. I am losing badly.

"I want out of the relationship, it's stifling me, you are stifling me"! Jay shouted as the car started climbing down the steep hill. They were returning from a trial vacation, counselling had not helped.

"It's that bitch in your office, isn't it" Charlot shouted, hitting him over and over relentlessly. Jay had left the Sweet Alyssum bloom on the back seat of the car, not hiding it very well. Charlot reached for it, crumpled it between her fists, the blood in her veins curdled instantly, her eyes bulged, she screamed. Jay took his eyes off the road in horror, the car careened over the low embankment and exploded on the rocks below.

They both ran, not yet realizing that they were dead.

The L-Train tore around the bend, heading to Manhattan at breakneck speed. The driver, Marty, wanted to be early tonight, he had a date with his destiny, he and his partners in crime had a big robbery planned, then he would meet Chastity at her house. He sighed happily at the memory of her curvy thighs. She had sent him the most unusual flower, Lady of the night (otherwise called Dama de Noche). He never really thought that she was that classy, but that turned him on even more. The other guy had stepped out for a quick break. Marty opened the small see through elegant plastic box, lifted the flower to his nose and inhaled. The fragrant aromatic liquid squirted true, blinding his eyes and quickly travelled to his heart. He gripped his chest.

Out of control, the train leaned dangerously, fiery sparks flew, speeding around the dark corner, it jumped the tracks, carrying all the various compartments, they zig-zagged precariously, finally careening off the rails and melding into each other with a sickening screech. Metal crunched, gears screamed, horrible human screams emanated from the many different compartments. Fire erupted amidst the horror of twisted metal.

The train had been filled with drunken licentious party goers, returning from a night of lecherous fun and extreme enjoyment. Innocent souls were spared as much as possible, but some unfortunate ones perished.

Sixty-five people died, no children though, Kupid didn't want those, he had no use for them where these were going. Limbs were severed, blood and gore were everywhere, the authorities are still hoping and searching for survivors, the news said.

No one is running tonight.

Kupid smiled a smile of pure evil satisfaction. A profitable days work if he might say so himself. Many souls would be added to the master's workforce tonight. He dutifully checked his remaining fragrant bouquets, Roses, Carnation, Corsican mint, Azafran Crocus, Primrose, Primeria and Frangipani among others. He would return tomorrow, the mirror would be here as always.

Kupid faded back into the mirror. The beautiful faces and floral temptations followed, squirming eerily, deeply fading into its shadowy depths.

I fell to the floor in a faint. I woke up after a while, avoiding the possessed mirror, beauty can be just as evil as it's counterpart. I hurried to the kitchen drawer for my hammer. Mirrors in my house had to be taken care of. I had slept badly. The news of the many deaths haunted me. Had I really been possessed by the accursed faces in the mirror? I cannot recall, I cannot be sure of anything.

It rained early in the morning. I stepped from my house, stopped to avoid a puddle, looked into the pooled water, and... Oh God. NOOOOOO! The faces, the horrible beautiful faces!

I tried to run!

Kupid smiled happily.

Your words feel very well thought out and poetic in this piece. I loved the flow and feel of your descriptive language, it kept me captive to your story! Unable to look away from the screen. You did such a breath taking job using the sense and psychological factors to create an eery and blood chilling experience! The way you narrated the story, I felt like I was there and experiencing it first hand. It was incredibly creepy and awe striking. The mini stories within this one, involving the poisoned flowers was a stroke of genius! You did such a great job creating Kupid as the antagonist! I am completely blown away by your creativity in this piece!
