Killer Black Cat

Is That Even Possible?

Midnight is my name or is it?

A young married couple in their early 20's did not want children yet. They have only been married for four months. They both love cats. Allen, newly wedded gentleman was 22 years-old, and his wife, Hannah was 21 years-old, decided to go to the local animal shelter to adopt one of their cats. The first one, came to the door of the cage just purring away. The worker told them that Midnight was four months old, letting them know he was born on May 9, 2018, which they loved that because they were married the day before May 8, 2018.

They loved Midnight. He was so lovable and friendly! They paid all the adoption fees and took Midnight home! When they got home, they let him explore his new home. Midnight settled in nicely in about three days. He loved it there with his fur parent's. As time went by, the love they had for Midnight got stronger and stronger, but does Midnight feel the same love? Time will tell.

On October 31, 2003, Allan and Hannah went to lay down around 9 PM. Midnight was laying on the bed waiting them to go to bed, like every night, this night seemed to have a bad vibe to it. Maybe because it was Halloween, their first Halloween together as a married couple. Allen falls asleep first, like normal, while Hannah lays in bed watching tv and playing with Midnight. About a hour later, Hannah fell asleep.

After they both were asleep, Midnight woke up. Halloween nights and black cats is not a good combination. Midnight watched them both sleep a few hours. Allen was sleeping on his back, and Hannah was on her side. Midnight sneaked closely to Allen's head. Midnight inched slowly and carefully walked closer, and closer to Allen. He was always a deep sleeper.

Midnight laid on his face. He was big enough to cover Allen's nose and mouth, but small enough to where Allen could not feel the weight of Midnight one his face. Midnight laid there until Hannah rolled on her back after 20-minutes for her to get in position, just as Allen did. After Hannah got on her back, Midnight sat on her face just the same as her husband's face. Covering her mouth and nose.

After about a hour, Midnight was still on Hannah's face. Midnight got up and had to do a big stretch. He was so tired after all that work. Smothering Allen and Hannah to death. He walked around the empty house. In the meantime, he just happened to stepped on the air conditioner remote, and turning the unit blowing air across the room on, which the bedroom was pretty small. Blowing off any cat hair that may have been on the dead couple and off the bed.

Allen's mother, Nancy, came to check on them the next day around 5 PM because Hannah usually calls her at 9 AM, and hours later, no word from her or Allen. Nancy called both of them several times before she went over to their house.

Allen's mother, Nancy, came to check on them. Nancy knocked and banged on the door. Both cars were home, she seen Midnight through a window, tell up and swaying back and forth, but nothing else. No noise, all she saw was Allen or Hannah laying dead in their bed. Nancy called the local police department.

Chief Larue was first on scene. He took hair samples of the tiny hairs laying around the bedroom floors. So, he knew Allen and Hannah was not alone. He sent every hair found to forensics for further testing. About two hours later, the coroner arrived to get the bodies for a medical examination. Pretty common for odd deaths. Nancy left at 6 PM with Midnight.

Chief Larue locked the house up like Fort Knox, and walked under that yellow caution tape to head to the office. He left around 11 PM. After arriving at the office, he looked at pictures he took on his phone at the scene, and the color of the tiny hairs found in the bedroom. Around 1 AM, he went home to his sleeping bride confused about the tiny black hairs found. Chief fell asleep at 2:30 AM on November 1, 2003.

The medical examiner called Chief Larue with some results. The toxic and alcohol levels were normal. There were nothing there. He did rule the deaths as suffocation. Also, he noticed a small black hair in Allen's mouth. He told Chief Larue he was testing that small hair. Then he said goodbye for now.

About 3 PM, forensics called Chief Larue about the hairs collected, and informed him they are cat hairs. So, Chief Larue called Nancy and asked about any known pets, he did not notice Midnight at the scene. Nancy informed the chief they had a black cat they rescued few months earlier. Chief Larue informed Nancy that it appeared to kill her son and daughter-in-law. That bothered her so much that she took Midnight back to a shelter. Nancy told them that Midnight killed Allen and Hannah, and they thought she was insane.
