At the edge of a small village stood an ancient banyan tree, beneath which lay a stone bench. Locals whispered that a **Jinn** lived under the tree. But this Jinn wasn’t harmful. Instead, at night, a sweet melody could be heard from beneath the tree, as if someone were singing.
One day, a young traveler named **Sumit** arrived in the village. He was fascinated by mysterious tales and decided to visit the banyan tree after hearing about the Jinn. At night, he reached the tree and found a small note on the stone bench. It read: *"I can grant you three wishes. But beware, each wish comes with a price."*
Sumit chuckled, thinking it was a prank. But then, a deep voice echoed, "What is your first wish?"
Startled, Sumit looked around but saw no one. He asked, "Who are you?"
The Jinn laughed and said, "I am the Jinn of this banyan tree. I have lived here for centuries. If you make a wish, I will grant it. But remember, every wish has a price."
Sumit thought it was an opportunity. He said, "Alright, my first wish is for immense wealth."
The Jinn smiled and said, "It is done." The next morning, Sumit found a large chest filled with gold coins in his courtyard. He was overjoyed. But soon, his entire family fell ill with an unknown disease. Doctors were baffled.
Sumit realized this was the Jinn’s price. He rushed back to the banyan tree and pleaded, "My family is sick. Can you heal them?"
The Jinn chuckled and said, "That will be your second wish. Are you sure?"
Sumit replied, "Yes, I wish for my family to be healthy again."
The Jinn said, "It is done." The next day, Sumit’s family recovered completely. But to his dismay, all his wealth vanished.
Sumit returned to the Jinn and said, "All my wealth is gone. Can you bring it back?"
The Jinn smiled and said, "That will be your third wish. Are you certain?"
Sumit said, "Yes, I wish for my wealth to return."
The Jinn said, "It is done." The next day, Sumit’s wealth returned, but his family fell ill again.
Sumit finally understood the heavy price of the Jinn’s wishes. He went back to the tree and said, "I don’t want any more wishes. I just want everything to go back to how it was."
The Jinn laughed and said, "You have learned your lesson. The price of wishes is always high. From now on, be careful what you wish for."
Everything returned to normal. Sumit realized that his family’s health was far more valuable than any ealth. From that day on, he never made another wish.
