In the vents of the Elementry School

…..I can’t find the way out

I wake in the same tunnel every time but every time the tunnel leads me to somewhere different. A different part of the school's ventilation system. The only way to travel to the school is through the vents. Which always leads to the school's boiler room? I see a door with a bright exit sign above it.

I try to walk towards the door but someone puts a hand on my shoulder, they don't talk but I know he doesn't want me to go through the door. It's like he is trying to warn me of something. I shrug him off: “Come on, we need to get out of here. We can't keep crawling through the tunnels and vents.”

He didn't say anything but it's like I knew what he was saying. We walked through the door and we ended up in the laundry room. Both of us looked at each other puzzled because it felt like we had been here before.

I’m unsure how many times I have woken up in this hell hole of a school. But it has to be at least five or six times. The school that I wake up in the dream is an elementary school I went to as a kid. Since high school, at least 15 years, every so often I end up here in a nightmare.

This dream usually ends up waking up in a sleep paralysis. With that comes a shadow person in the corner, the man with the hat. Nothing ever happens besides the side effects of being in a sleep paralysis. I always manage to wake up before the Hat Man gets too close. When I manage to wake up, he seems to back off and then disappears.

We are standing in this school's laundry room, why does an elementary school have a laundry room, to begin with? This room and the boiler room remind me of rooms out of an old insane asylum. It's so creepy.

"What do we do?" he shrugs. Looking around, not seeing a way out.

We started walking further into the room and the door behind us slammed shut and locked. In a panic, I tried to pull on the door to open it- it didn't budge. I frantically start pounding on the door. Then before I know the door disappears altogether and is just a wall.

"What in the world is going on?"

The boy grabs my arm, pulls me to the other side of the room and points up to the vent; "What do you mean? Why are you pointing to the vents? We are trying to get out of this vent system and out of this damn place."

He keeps pointing to the vents- There is no other way. We climbed back up in the vents. Crawling through the vent system we stumbled across other people. They warned us to be careful in here. There is some sort of monster who is just snatching up people in the vents.

"What the fuck."

At this rate, we've been crawling in these vents for hours. We are trying to find a new path to take because there has to be an entrance somewhere. We found a hall that resembled a slide. We go down..... we end up in the boiler room. But this is different because there are like six vents that come down. Looking at the top they look like it's all in one vent but looking more carefully you can see that there all going in different directions.

There is something behind me. I have no idea what it is because this is the part of the dream I wake up. This isn't the type of dream where you get a little further each time. No, I wake up each time in this moment.

UUUUUGH, recurring nightmares and sleep paralysis are the worst! There was a point where I was jump-scared by my sleep paralysis monster and I was not happy about it when I woke up lol. Very good descriptions of what is going on and there's some places I could really feel the panic.

OMG!! Whie my dream wasn't like this, I'm woken to that sleep paralysis. The man in the hat wasn't in the corner of my room but in my doorway with a bright light behind him. This is so weird. I can definitely relate to this. GREAT story.
