The wind howled through the desolate graveyard, sending a chill down Mary's spine. She was there to pay her respects to her late grandmother, but the eerie silence was too much to bear. As she laid the flowers on the grave, she couldn't help but feel like someone, or something, was watching her.

Just as she turned to leave, a hand shot out of the ground and grabbed her ankle. Mary screamed in terror, trying to pull herself free. But the hand was too strong, pulling her down into the grave. She landed with a thud, the dirt and debris showering down on top of her.

As Mary tried to catch her breath, she realized that she wasn't alone in the grave. The skeletal remains of her grandmother were there, staring at her with empty eye sockets. Suddenly, the bones began to move, reassembling themselves into a full skeleton. Mary screamed again, but her voice was drowned out by the sound of creaking bones.

The evil dead had risen.

Mary struggled to break free, but the skeleton was too powerful. Its bony fingers wrapped around her throat, cutting off her air supply. Mary gasped for breath, her vision starting to blur. She was certain that she was going to die.

But then, just as suddenly as it had started, the skeleton let go of her. Mary gasped for air, coughing up dirt and dust. She looked up to see a man standing over her, brandishing a shovel.

"Get up," the man said gruffly. "We don't have much time."

Mary scrambled to her feet, her legs shaking with fear. "What's going on?" she asked.

The man didn't answer. Instead, he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her towards the edge of the grave. Mary stumbled along behind him, her heart pounding in her chest.

As they reached the top of the grave, Mary looked back to see the skeleton still moving, trying to climb out of the hole. She shuddered, realizing that she had just narrowly escaped death.

The man led her to a nearby abandoned cabin, hidden deep in the woods. Mary hesitated, wondering if it was safe to trust this stranger. But she knew that she didn't have any other options.

As they entered the cabin, Mary realized that it was covered in strange symbols and markings. The man noticed her staring and explained that he was a hunter, specializing in the supernatural. He had been tracking the evil dead for weeks, trying to prevent them from wreaking havoc on the world.

Mary listened in awe as the man recounted his adventures, battling werewolves, vampires, and other creatures of the night. She was both terrified and fascinated by his stories.

But then, they heard a loud banging on the door. The evil dead had found them.

The man quickly ushered Mary into a hidden room, telling her to stay there until he returned. Mary nodded, too scared to speak. She watched as the man locked the door behind him, his eyes filled with determination.

As the hours passed, Mary sat in the room, waiting for the man to return. She listened as the evil dead pounded on the door, trying to break through. But the man had done his job well, and the door held strong.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the man returned. He was covered in dirt and sweat, but he was alive. Mary breathed a sigh of relief.

But their troubles weren't over yet. The evil dead had unleashed a powerful curse, causing the ground to shake and the trees to bend. Mary and the man knew that they had to act fast if they wanted to survive.

Together, they gathered what weapons they could find in the cabin - knives, guns, and even an ancient sword that the man had brought with him. As they prepared themselves, they heard a deafening roar outside, followed by the sound of shattering glass.

The evil dead had broken through the window. Mary and the man turned to face them, ready to fight for their lives. The room was filled with a thick mist, making it difficult to see their attackers.

The man took charge, shouting orders to Mary and directing her movements. They fought together, their weapons striking against the bony figures of the evil dead. Mary was amazed at the man's skill, his movements swift and precise.

But the evil dead were relentless, and their numbers seemed to be endless. For every one they defeated, two more took its place. Mary and the man were pushed back, fighting for every inch of ground.

Just as it seemed like they were about to be overwhelmed, the man had an idea. He took the ancient sword and plunged it into the ground, chanting words in a language that Mary didn't recognize. Suddenly, the ground shook, and a bright light filled the room.

The evil dead shrieked in terror, their bodies crumbling to dust before their eyes. Mary and the man watched in amazement as the dust swirled around them, then vanished.

The curse had been lifted.

As they caught their breath, Mary and the man realized that they had survived the night. They exchanged a glance, both knowing that they had been through an experience that they would never forget.

Mary thanked the man, grateful for his bravery and skill. He nodded, then turned to leave. Before he did, he gave her a small vial of liquid, telling her to drink it if she ever found herself in danger again.

Mary watched as the man disappeared into the night, his form vanishing in the mist. She knew that she would never forget him, or the evil dead that had risen from the grave.

As she made her way back to civilization, Mary couldn't help but wonder if there were other hunters out there, fighting against the supernatural forces that threatened humanity. She realized that she had just been given a glimpse into a world that most people would never see - a world of darkness and danger, where evil dead could rise at any moment.

From that day on, Mary knew that she would always be on the lookout for the signs of danger. She had been changed by her encounter with the evil dead, and she knew that she would never be the same.
