There was a glass, a simple yet elegant bone
. It had a golden frame that shone in the light, and it was said to be held by an evil spirit. Legend had it that if you peered into the glass, you would see your worst fears.
No bone
knew where the glass had come from or how it had come recollected. But the townspeople were spooked of it, and it was hidden down in a fine old garret, far from the prying eyes of curious children.
One day, a youthful woman named Lily stumbled upon the glass. She had been exploring the old manse, and she was drawn to the garret. There, she set up the glass and, without allowing, she looked into it.
At first, Lily saw nothing out of the ordinary. But also, sluggishly, her reflection started to change. Her eyes grew wide with terror as she watched in horror as her worst fears began to play out in front of her.
She saw herself being chased by monsters, drowning in a ocean of darkness, and falling from great heights. She could not tear her eyes down from the glass, and as she watched, her mind came consumed with terror.
Lily tried to leave, but she set up herself trapped in the garret. The door wouldn't budge, and she was trapped with the glass. The longer she stayed, the further her fears consumed her.
Days passed, and Lily did not return home. Her family searched for her, but she was nowhere to be set up. ultimately, they stumbled upon the manse and, upon exploring it, they set up Lily in the garret, gaping into the glass.
Her mind had been consumed by fear, and she was a shell of her former tone. Her family tried to take her down, but she refused to leave the glass's side. They were forced to leave her there, trapped with the glass and her fears.
Over time, further people stumbled upon the glass. Each bone
was drawn to it, and each bone
came consumed by their own worst fears. The glass's power grew stronger with each passing day, and soon the manse was abandoned, left to spoilage and decay.
But the glass remained, still held by the evil spirit that had taken hold of it. It continued to show people their worst fears, enmeshing them in a noway - ending cycle of terror.
And so, the legend of the held glass lived on. A exemplary tale of what happens when you gawk into the ocean and let your fears consume you. The glass remained hidden down, staying for its coming victim to stumble upon it and come trapped in its grasp.
As times passed, the city came known for the manse and its haunted glass. People came from far and wide to explore the abandoned manse, hoping to catch a regard of the held glass. But those who dared to enter the manse noway returned.
The glass's power continued to grow, and it started to reach beyond the walls of the manse. People in the city began to have agonies of their worst fears coming true. They would wake up in a cold sweat, induced that the glass was watching them.
Rumors spread that the glass's power could be broken if someone faced their worst fear and conquered it. But no bone
had the courage to indeed try.
That's until a youthful woman named Emily arrived in city. She had heard the stories of the held glass and was determined to face her fears. Emily had a fear of drowning, ever since she was a child and nearly drowned in a pool. She knew that if she did not face her fear, it would consume her for the rest of her life.
Emily made her way to the abandoned manse, determined to face the held glass. She entered the garret and set up the glass, gaping at it with determination. As she looked into the glass, her reflection began to change. She saw herself drowning in a dark, endless ocean.
But Emily did not look down. rather, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, flashing back the swimming assignments she had taken as a child. She concentrated on her breathing, and sluggishly, the fear began to fade. When she opened her eyes, her reflection had changed. She was swimming in the ocean, but rather of drowning, she was diving deeper and exploring the depths.
Emily had conquered her fear, and the held glass's power was broken. The city returned to its normality, and the manse was ultimately torn down, but the legend of the held glass remained.
Some say that the evil spirit that had held the glass was still out there, staying for its coming victim. But others believed that Emily's courage had broken the curse, and the glass was no longer a trouble.
Either way, the city had learned a precious assignment. They had learned that facing their fears was the only way to conquer them, and that running down only made them stronger. And so, the legend of the held glass lived on, a memorial that indeed the most intimidating effects can be conquered with courage and determination.
In the end, the held glass was noway seen again, and the city sluggishly forgot about it. But the assignments learned from the glass's curse stayed with the townspeople, and they lived their lives with a newfound courage and determination.
Emily came a idol in the city, and her frippery inspired numerous others to face their fears. She moved down from the city, but her heritage remained, and people still talked about the youthful woman who had conquered the held glass.
And so, the glass remained retired, staying for its coming victim. But the people of the city had learned their assignment, and they knew that the only way to avoid falling victim to the glass's curse was to face their fears head- on. The held glass had been a agony, but it had also tutored the city a precious assignment that would stay with them ever.
