Warning: This article contains spoilers from Yellowjackets season 1

Yellowjackets is Showtime's latest thriller that has all of us invested in the high school soccer team that was on their way to nationals when their private plane crashed. The show focuses not only on the survivors of the crash and how they navigated 17 months in the wilderness, but it focuses on specific survivors as they became adults.

The show is set to return for a second season this March and it has a lot to live up to. Season 1 of Yellowjackets took us on a wild ride with a lot of twists, turns, and surprises. But even with all of the information we got, there are still quite a few questions remaining from season 1 that we want answered with season 2.

So let's focus on what we know from season 1 and look forward to what questions we want Yellowjackets season 2 to answer.

Again, this article contains spoilers from Yellowjackets season 1

6. Is Adam's murder even important?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

Adam is an interesting character in the sense that he was murdered before we really knew any solid information about him. All we really knew was that he was completely infatuated with Shauna and lied about his education. However, the TV news clip in the finale not only confirmed his name, but it confirmed that he is actually a New Jersey artist. Not only that, but he does indeed have people who are wondering where he is and Shauna's daughter has reason to suspect she and/or Jeff was involved.

The weird thing about this situation is it filled up Shauna's adult storyline throughout season 1, but in the end it doesn't feel very important. We don't know who he was or what relevance he served other than being the scapegoat for Jeff's money problems. Fan theories suggest that Adam was actually an adult version of Javi and at some point he had changed his name, but we don't know if that's true. Especially since Javi's photo was in the Yellowjackets memorial inside the school at the 25 year reunion, alongside Travis and their father, implying that he died before the rescue. Hopefully season 2 will answer some questions that linger about Adam's entire existence in the show.

5. Who was following Travis and why did he have to die?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

Travis is easily one of the show's focal points, even though we only see him as a teenager. Obviously as he grew into adulthood, he had a relationship with Natalie and struggled with substance abuse - but why did he have to die? Not only that, but who exactly was following him?

The final moments of the season 1 finale imply that Natalie was correct in saying Travis didn't commit suicide. Given the discovery of the symbol at his death, the emptying of the bank account, and Natalie being kidnapped by people wearing the symbol, it's pretty safe to assume that someone did actually murder him. But why? It seemed like he had removed himself from society and wasn't going to talk to anyone. There has to be some connection to him and this apparent cannibal cult that we don't know yet. Especially since the reporter that was trying to get anyone to talk agreed that Travis was murdered. What did she find out that now we won't hear about?

4. What happened to Van?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

It's easy at this point to assume that any of the girls we haven't seen as adults eventually died in the wilderness, but we can't forget what was said at the beginning of the series - some of them survived, but disappeared completely.

Van is an interesting character because by all accounts, she should have died in the plane crash. She was essentially left for dead by Jackie and was barely made it out alive after being attacked by wolves in the forest. Not only that, but somehow she didn't die from some raging infection after getting back to the cabin. But the season 1 finale told us that alongside Misty, Van joined in as a full believer of Lottie's visions. That is after Lottie was revealed to be the "Antler Queen" that we saw in the first episode. And according to press for the second season, we will see adult versions of both Lottie and Van, to be played by Simone Kessell and Lauren Ambrose.

I have no doubt we will get answers, but the real questions that remained after the finale are what exactly has Van been up to, and what happened between her and Taissa? There was a tense confrontation between Taissa and Van regarding the belief in Lottie's visions, and seeing that Taissa is still behaving a bit oddly... what is the secret?

3. How or why did Misty escape the cult?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

Even after finishing the first season, I still can't decide whether I love or hate Misty. She is such a unique character and a lot of her behaviors are hilariously odd, but something is not right. She is the only other one kneeling beside Lottie in the finale with the other being Van, and she was the only one who took off her costume in the opening sequence and seemed happy. Now that we know the symbol is legitimately connected to a cult and Lottie and Van are alive... so why would she leave?

Misty being back in their hometown as a nurse seemed to make sense at first because she seemed genuinely interested in medicine and had taken first aid classes and whatnot, but as the show went on it became apparent that she is just demented. She knows how to dismember corpses, she knows how to get away with murder, she knows how to kill people, she knows how to be a voyeur, and she knows how to get away with it all through being a nurse. She is also aware that no one on the Yellowjackets liked her and even in adulthood, people stayed away from her.

But why? If she was accepted into the cult and believed in it, why would she ever leave? One theory is that Lottie kicked her out, but even then why would she have been allowed to be rescued? Another theory, which I think is more likely, is that she's a plant and Lottie let her go to keep tabs on everyone else. Her behavior would support that.

2. What happened to Shauna's baby?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

This is one thing I was left irritated by when the finale wrapped up because it's yet another focal point of the entire show. But it's only a focal point in the past scenes, and it's never mentioned in the adult scenes. Shauna and Jeff's daughter is too young to be the baby she's pregnant with at the time of the crash, so... what happened to the baby?

Shauna as a teenager is just going to remain pregnant as the show continues, so this is a cliffhanger that has to get answered at some point. Cannibalism is ultimately where this show is going, so do they eat the baby? Is the baby sacrificed? Does the cult keep the baby? Did she somehow get rescued with the baby and it gets put up for adoption?

1. How did the team get rescued?

'Yellowjackets' [Showtime]

Now, obviously some people who survived the crash get rescued. We have seen five survivors to this point and are poised to see more in season two, so we know at some point they are found and get rescued. But how?

I thought that we'd get some hint to how they escaped the wilderness by the finale, but that didn't happen. We were left still scratching our heads as to how they not only managed to survive 17 months, but how they were rescued. Who found them? How were they found? Did they move away from the cabin and go deeper into the woods? For me, this is probably the biggest question I have going into season 2.

What questions do you have going into 'Yellowjackets' season 2?
