100 Jackals Screamed at Us in the Jungle...

Then a Winged Horse Appeared

By LilyPublished 9 months ago 14 min read

So, the time was 2017, when this incident happened in December of 2017. Because there's a lot of vegetation around, the severity of the winter is a bit more intense there. He was in a hall, I won't mention the name of the hall for obvious reasons. This hall has two blocks, A block and B block. B block is in the front of the hall and A block is in the back. Behind the gate of A block, there's a vast forest area. And in December, it gets terribly cold there. He and other seniors and juniors in the hall, they were a group of about 10 to 13 people. They used to regularly play badminton until late at night. One day during one of these games, they planned to have a barbecue party. So, they decided on the venue – the forest behind the hall. And they elaborately discussed how they would do the barbecue in this forest, who would take on which responsibility. So, the decision was that eight of them would barbecue the next day. There’s no problem revealing these names, we’ll mention the names from time to time for ease of understanding. Among those who were there were Zahid Hasan, Omi, and Aditya. They were, of course, three friends. Then there were some seniors, including Amit Da, Tanmoy Da, Govinda Da, Shahriar, and Kajol. Kajol was the most senior, and he was a practicing Muslim. And there were daily discussions about genies with Kajol. On the evening of the day of the incident, according to their plan, they did the shopping, gathered dry wood, kerosene, and coal. They bought everything. Then, after processing the meat, they went down to play badminton like every night.

So, that day they went to play a bit earlier because their plan was to go to that side of the jungle after finishing the game. Around nine o'clock at night, they exited through gate A block, heading towards the jungle. It's worth mentioning that gate A block was at the back, and that gate used to be closed around eight o'clock at night. And the guards, they knew all of them. They would also hear many stories from the guards while chatting, and that's why they had a pretty good rapport with these guards. And because of this good relationship, the guard had given them the key to the gate, because they would be returning late at night, and it would be quite a hassle for the guard to come from gate B block and open gate A block. The guard didn't want that hassle, so he didn't refuse. He wanted to stay a bit secluded, and since they were familiar, there shouldn't be any problems, so he gave them the key. There are two ways to enter that jungle: one is by exiting through the gate and going straight to the right side, near the corner of the hall, and the other is to go straight to the left side, near the corner of the hall. You can go to the place from either direction. And the whole jungle is quite spooky. So that night, they entered through the right-side path. They had a designated spot for hanging out in that part of the jungle. They fixed a spot inside a bush, which was naturally formed, quite an empty and beautiful place. That place had enough space for nine to ten people to sit in a circle and hang out. And one side was open; looking through that side, it felt like a large open space. On one side, during the monsoon, it's like an open field with waist-deep water, and in the winter, it dries up. At the end of the field, there's more jungle, much like the Sal forest of Bhawal, Gazipur. So, inside the trees, inside the jungle, there are often agricultural lands, right? It was kind of like that place that they had chosen. So, after finalizing the venue, they started their work, the work of lighting the fire with coal. They had the habit of barbecuing from before, and they knew how to arrange everything, how to work with everything. They had taken a lot of coal, dry wood, and kerosene because it was a jungle area.

So, since they were organizing it in the jungle area for the first time, they were worried that if something suddenly ran short in the middle of the night, where would they get it from? That's why they brought a lot of everything in advance. They had done barbecue on the roof of a building before, but this was their first time in the jungle. Anyway, although the paranormal stuff hadn't really started yet, the signs of paranormal activity began from the moment they tried to light the charcoal. Despite bringing extra of everything, they couldn't get the charcoal to light, neither the wood nor the charcoal. Then, Zahid Hasan came up with a clever idea and brought a small rechargeable table lamp. Their plan was to make a campfire with dry wood. They had mobile phone flashlights too, but after almost an hour of trying, they were only able to get a tiny bit of fire to light, and even that was with kerosene. If it wasn't constantly fueled, it would go out. The charcoal was the same; which made him bring out the lamp and light it up. At that moment, there was an unsettling silence all around. Because there were so many people, they didn't think much of it at first, so everyone continued to chat and try to get the barbecue ready, even though it was difficult. But the fire wasn't burning well at all. Despite the bone-dry wood and the kerosene, instead of a big fire, the wood was slowly burning and turning into charcoal. And when they tried to light the separately brought dry charcoal, it wasn't glowing bright red like it should, and the charcoal was running out too. Despite all this, they kept chatting and working, so it didn't feel too difficult. Meanwhile, the barbecue was about 70% complete. Basically, the first visible incident started from then on. After working for a while, Zahid Hasan and another person with him, Omi, were sitting side-by-side taking a rest. Behind them was an open field-like area, and in front of them was dense jungle. The others were sitting facing them. Suddenly, Zahid Hasan heard the sound of wind, like the sound of leaves rubbing against each other in a light breeze.

But they aren't feeling any wind, and even with the available light, they don't see the leaves moving anywhere. They are looking around for the source of the sound, and Ami, who is standing next to Zahid Hasan, also notices the matter. They look at each other, wondering what's going on. At that moment, the sound happens again. This time, several of them can pinpoint the direction the sound is coming from. Together, several people look towards a tree about 10 to 12 feet away.

They see the sound of the wind is coming from the top of that tree. The strange thing is, the leaves are moving only in a specific area, about five to six feet in size, at the top of the tree. And in that small area, there seems to be a swirling white smoke, like the smoke from a barbecue, but this smoke is much denser and very visible; it's clearly noticeable. What's even more surprising is that if the wind is moving the leaves in that spot, the leaves on the surrounding trees should also be moving, right? But the phenomenon is happening only within that five to six foot area – that is, within the five to six foot area at the top of the tree. Not outside it; no other leaf is moving except in that specific area.

For 10 to 15 seconds, Ami and Zahid Hasan are looking in that direction. The smoke gradually dissipates, but the sound of the leaves continues. Then Ami says to Zahid Hasan, "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Some of them say, "Yes, we are seeing the same thing." So, it wasn't that everyone there saw the phenomenon; only a few people did. Then Zahid Hossain says, "Okay, those of us who are seeing it, let's keep quiet for now. There's no need to scare the others who came with us. The smoke has already cleared, and it might just be our imagination."Anyway, among them, Kajol bhai, Zahid Hasan bhai, Omi, and then Tanmoyda, they had prior experience with genies, while the others didn't. So, when Zahid Hasan bhai called Kajol bhai aside and said that he had seen such and such, it seemed to Zahid Hasan bhai that there was a reason for the fire not catching, that something was there, some presence nearby. Kajol bhai said that he knew the place wasn't good, but he didn't expect that they themselves would fall into its clutches, although the signs had been apparent for quite some time.

Kajol bhai was a practical, practicing Muslim. He never missed a prayer. So, Kajol bhai said that it was okay, he was closing everyone's bodies off spiritually, but this shouldn't have happened to them. There must be a reason. If they couldn't figure it out, there would be problems, but figuring it out might also lead to problems. Then, it occurred to Zahid Hasan bhai that Tanmoyda had a history of genie-related issues. He knew this, and none of the others really noticed in the beginning that he had previous genie problems. And it's not always logical to expect people to remember that, is it? Just because someone has genie-related problems doesn't mean you can't take them anywhere, right? Then Zahid Hossain bhai told Kajol bhai about the problem he had, that he had these kinds of problems. Kajol bhai then went behind everyone, reciting Ayatul Kursi, Surah Falaq, and Surah Nas, and blowing on them without letting anyone notice. He told Zahid Hasan bhai to stay with Tanmoy, not to let him be alone, as Tanmoy could be taken suddenly, and then the situation would become very dangerous.

There would be a huge uproar at the university about it. So, Tanmoy shouldn't be alone, not even nearby. On the other hand, Tanmoyda was very afraid of these things because of the various genie-related problems he'd had before. That's why Tanmoyda didn't notice the smudging or spiritual cleansing. So, the main issue was kept secret from him. After finishing the conversation with Kajol Bhai, Zahid Hasan Bhai, he sort of closed himself off. Then Zahid Hasan Bhai and Omi sandwiched Tanmoy Da between them and started urging him in a lighthearted, chatty way that they were very hungry and wanted to finish the work quickly and return to the hall as soon as possible. As time passed, a suffocating feeling began to envelop them from all sides. Eventually, everyone started to feel suspicious because such weather in winter was impossible. Jahangirnagar University is known for its intense cold, especially those who study there know the nature of winter in Jahangirnagar University. But there was such a suffocating atmosphere that everyone realized something was happening that shouldn't be. Then Kajol Bhai, followed by Zahid Hasan Bhai and Omi, gradually tried to lighten the mood by talking about other things. They were saying that they didn't like the place and that the food was ready, so they should finish eating quickly and leave. They sat in a circle and started eating. Until this point, things were relatively okay, but then things took a drastically different turn. Whether there was a non-physical presence or not, it seemed to want to show a loud, clear sign of its presence. The meal was halfway through, and everyone was chatting while eating, so focused on the food that the campfire was also dying down because no one could pour kerosene on it while eating. Also, Omi's charger died. Suddenly, from all around them, at least 100 plus jackals started howling together. The sound was deafening from all directions, exactly like the sound of jackals howling. The distance from where the jackals were howling made it seem like they were at most 10 to 15 ft away from them. Yet, they couldn't see a single jackal. The front was empty, and the sound was coming from a side where the field was visible.

Yet, no foxes are to be seen, and it's winter, the season of falling leaves. Walking will inevitably create the sound of leaves crunching underfoot; it's impossible to avoid. And yet, so many foxes came so close, and they didn't notice anything. Fox sightings at Jahangirnagar University are very common; many people know this. And in their hall area, there are even more foxes. But the foxes never come this close. Even when they roam in packs, it's usually a maximum of 20 to 30 foxes. Small packs usually consist of three or four foxes, so seeing that many isn't typical. They're very familiar with the sound of fox calls, but they had never seen so many foxes. Anyway, it took them five to six seconds to recover from the initial shock, to process what was happening and why so many foxes were suddenly calling out together. Then Zahid Hasan did what? He immediately stopped eating and sprayed kerosene from a bottle. The moment the fire blazed up a bit, amazingly, the fox calls stopped instantly. The terrifying silence returned. So many foxes surrounded them in a round shape, a circle. They didn't hear them arrive, and they didn't hear them leave. How is that possible? The whole jungle is covered in fallen leaves, making soundless walking impossible. More importantly, when foxes travel in packs, they call out in a sequence for a long time, and this call shifts from one area to another among the foxes. Meaning, when another fox hears it, it starts calling too. But here, while these ones were calling so much, no calls were heard from distant foxes. And when foxes start calling, they keep calling; they don't suddenly all go silent together. And why didn't the distant foxes respond to their calls? If a fox calls somewhere on campus, it eventually reaches the very edge of the campus; the foxes in between will pick up the call. And a fox never calls for just a few seconds. That's when they finally realized they had encountered something strange, something supernatural. Eating any more in that situation wasn't possible.

So, Zahid Hasan quickly washed his hands first, and then this Tanmoyda, he firmly grabbed his hand because one thing was on his mind: Tanmoyda shouldn't be left alone within the group, being alone would mean big trouble. Within five minutes, they packed everything up and set off towards the hall. Everyone took a piece of dry wood in their hands and, spraying kerosene, somehow managed to escape from the jungle. They didn't face any problems until they got out of the jungle, thanks to Allah's grace. So, the story could have ended there, but no, there was more to it. After returning to the hall, they locked the hall gate and then went to the washroom to wash their hands and faces, to freshen up, and also to clean the plates and other things. The hall gate was right in the middle, with a long corridor leading to a washroom on the far right corner and another on the left corner. It was like that on every floor. So, this Aditya, his room number was 111. His room was right next to the hall gate. Everyone would come here to wash their plates, and he was coming too.

I mean, Zahid Hasan came first, while the others were still washing their plates and freshening up. Then, that day, suddenly something happened. He went into a trance, trapped in a kind of illusion, this Zahid Hasan of ours. From room number 111, the hall gate was only eight or nine steps away. Meaning, if you stood in front of 111, you couldn't really see the hall gate properly, or it wouldn't even take two seconds to get there. So, he stood in front of 111, took out a cigarette to light it, and just then, he felt like he *had* to go to the hall gate at that moment, *had* to. He didn't know why he had to go, but he just felt it. Why did this thought suddenly come to his mind? Don't we suddenly feel like we have to do something right now, even if that thing isn't urgent? But since the hall gate wasn't directly visible from that spot...

But there's no logical explanation for suddenly needing to go there. He just felt like he had to go there immediately. He was alone and saw the others; some were going to the washroom, some were coming out, washing their faces and hands. There were about 15 rooms in between. He went to the hall gate and became trapped in a kind of trance or illusion. He stared fixedly at the scissor gate. Then he saw something very strange. A beautiful white horse slowly and calmly walked to the other side of the scissor gate and stood there. It looked like an Arabian horse, quite tall. Its body radiated a magnificent light. And the horse was staring directly at Zahid Hasan. The horse's expression seemed like it was smiling at him knowingly, like a human. And then, unknowingly, the words "Golam Rabbani" escaped his lips. Instantly, and astonishingly, the horse seemed to sprout two wings from nowhere, spread them out, puffed out its chest, raised its head, and shook itself. In the next moment, it felt like the thing flew away. The oppressive atmosphere that had been there vanished immediately. His senses returned. He felt like he had been in a trance. And he regained his awareness when Kajol called him. Kajol had come closer because he saw him standing alone and asked, "Zahid, what's wrong? What are you looking at?" That's when he really came to his senses. Kajol didn't see any of this. And there was nothing on the other side of the scissor gate at that time.

Because that flying horse, the one we call Pegasus, has gone. Anyway, one thing needs to be said: why did the name "Golam Rabbani" come up? Because Jahid Hasan's older aunt was possessed by a pious Jinn, who was over 900 years old. And this aunt, she was actually quite old. Because when the Jinn possessed her, it put a lot of strain on her body. And that's why this Golam Rabbani Jinn hadn't visited the aunt since 2015. And Jahid Hasan, he actually couldn't say for sure if it was Golam Rabbani or someone else. But it felt like it was him, it was a strong conviction in his mind, so to speak. It wasn't possible for him to cross-check it. However, this thing that came during the campfire they were having, the barbecue party, who was it? And they returned without any major problems. And then this beautiful horse came and announced its presence, only to Jahid Hasan. What's the message in that? So, did this Jinn in the form of a horse drive away some evil force? It wasn't really clear.

That's why the question remains. And something even more terrifying could have happened at night. Imagine, suddenly, over 100 foxes start howling in a circular formation very close by, really loudly. What kind of feeling would you have in such a terribly silent place? And then, what would it be like if those howls stopped in an instant? Only those who have faced it can understand what that feeling is like. That was the incident.
