The Titanic and the Titan had much in common.
The two unsinkable ships had similar tragedies.

Two unsinkable ships that sank
It's regrettable that 5 lives were lost on the Titan submersible that now lies at the bottom of the ocean near the Titanic. Not only are these two vessels in the same ocean but they have other similarities.
Stockton Rush the captain of the sub made a statement that was eerily identical to what . Edward John Smith said about the 1912 luxury liner. Smith has been quoted as saying "Not even God can sink the Titanic" and during a 2017 interview with Chris Reid of CBS Rush said his vessel was unstoppable.
(Rush) "By the time we're done testing it, I believe it's pretty much invulnerable," ( Reid)"And that's pretty much what they said about the Titanic," ""That's right," Rush said. "But I will go on all the first dives and probably every third dive. So, I'll put my money where my mouth is."
In 2018 Rush was warned again by Rob McCallum a deep sea expedition expert.
"I think you are potentially placing yourself and your clients in a dangerous dynamic," McCallum wrote in March 2018. "In your race to [the] Titanic you are mirroring that famous catch cry: 'She is unsinkable.'"
It sounds like both captains were sure of themselves and their vessels but they were very wrong.
1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God.
The towers men build
Genesis chapter 11 tells the story of how men came together and decided to build a tower to heaven, The Lord put a stop to it by confusing their language and men began moving throughout the earth to find others woke and spoke as they did.
It was arrogant of Captain Smith to mock God because 1500 passengers lost their lives on the Titanic. Stocton had multiple warnings and ignored them and even when the Titan was compared to the Titanic he remained steadfast. in his convictions.
The Titan had made 35 trips during a 6-year period where Rush could have gotten the proper inspections and made sure that wear and tear had not damaged his submersible.
James Cameron a fellow explorer and friend of Stockton the producer of the 1997 Titanic film has been speaking out on how the diving community was stunned at what happened but not surprised. These experts suspected right away that the Titan had imploded and Cameron shared what he believes happened.
He said a warning signal probably alerted those on the sub that something was wrong and they released their ascension weight and the Titan imploded as they were attempting to rise to the surface. Stockton and Smith placed their fates and the fates of those traveling with them in the hand of a man-made seafaring vessel that had no power to protect them.
2 Timothy 3:9 comes to mind. "But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes’s and Jambres’s folly was also".
Jannes and Jambres were the sorcerers who ewnt up against Moses whose power came from God. When they turned their staffs into serpents the snake that Moses made ate theirs up showing the God of Moses had more power.
Spared from the tragedy
There have been countless stories of those who were supposed to be on teh Titanic but situations happened that kept them away and safe. Los Vegas businessman Jay Bloom and his son were supposed to be on the Titan.
They had been asked by Rush to join the expedition and said the OCeangate CEO was pretty persistent. They turned down the tickets Bloom as they were concerned because of the materials the Titan was made of and the fact that it was being run by a game system, remote control.
Simple concerns led to Jay Bloom and his son's lives being spared and he called it the grace of God. Rush was able to convince 5 others to join him on the doomed mission and believe that it was safe. Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman purchased the tickets that Bloom gave up and they perished.
"Every time I see a picture of that Pakistani businessman and his 19-year-old son, I think how easily that could have been me and my 20-year-old son but for the grace of God,"
Neither tragedy had to happen
There has been a lot of discussion on Facebook about God giving warnings and how Rush ignored everyone who tried to keep him from making the trips to the Titanic. There is so much to glean from this tragic story as new information continues to be revealed.
The takeaway is that two men believed their ships were unsinkable and they were wrong. Now both the vessel and the submersible are at the bottom of the same sea. The obsession with the Titanic led to the Titan meeting a similar fate.
